  1. Hello all I had the sleeve almost 2 years ago. About 6 months out I began having severe gas issues to the point that I simply cannot control it. It is severe and constant. I've been to 2 gastro doc specialists, one at UCLA. I have had every test under the sun, some twice. They can offer me no help. Nothing helps. I've quit my job and have virtually become a hermit. I feel like my life is over and greatly regret my decision. I'm trying to find anyone that has had this issue also. I'm desperate! As I said, I've been thoroughly tested and do not have any common gut issues out there.

Severe gut issues after 6 months

Hello Thank you for the responses. I have lactose intolerance so I avoid that. I've talked to dietician and have been on low fodmap diet to eliminate and add foods back in. Everyone always suggests this first. It isn't food, I wish it was cause that's an easy fix. I've been tested for parasites, yes. I've had colonoscopy, endoscopy, modified barium swallow, 3 CT scans, 2 ultra sounds, too many blood tests to count and 4 or 5 breath tests. Many many prescriptions that don't help. I've been to a naturopath with still no relief. I am hoping to find someone who has had the same things and found help. But I've kind of given up hope at this point.
  3. I had gastric sleeve surgery about a year and a half ago. For the past year I have had constant seeping flatulence which has just about ruined my life. I've had every test there is and the docs can't help me. I eat low fodmap and have taken so many pills that haven't helped. Anyone having this same experience? It's suspicious that this all started after my surgery. Just trying to see if this is happening to others and if you've found any help.

    Flatulence at a year post-op

Yes been down this path many months ago and still trying. I eat low fodmap ( it's very restrictive) but we are all coming to the conclusion that it isn't what I eat, but still trying. I had the results of all my tests over many months last week and am being referred to docs out of state at this point. I haven't tried a nature path yet due to trying other tests first. Just wondering if anyone else is having this happen.

Hopefully it subsides for you. I never had any gastric issues prior to this. I don't wish this on anyone. Wishing you well!
