  1. Thank you for the encouragement. I am trying harder to follow the rules to the "T" and plan my meals ahead. I appreciate the tips and suggestions. Thanks again.
  2. I wish. I guess I am more of a restless monkey than you are! : 0
  3. Hi.my name is nancie and I had my lapband on June 19. I am so frustrated and wonder if this surgery will ever start working for me. I lost 13 lbs the 2 wks prior to surgery, and another 6 lbs after, but so far that is it. I had my first fill of 2cc with no restriction. My Dr then have me 1 more cc, making the total 3. Still I have no restriction and can eat anything with no adverse reaction. I am trying to lose but my band is not doing its part. Anyone else have this problem? I wish I knew beforehand that this would be a long process. I had hoped to be skinny by now!LOL!! I do excersise and drink lots of water. I admit that eating and drinking has been a struggle. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.
  4. Hi Candi, I am doing really good. I don't know if you have had any surgeries before but I have and let me tell you..this is nothing in comparison! I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the way you feel afterwards. I actually wonder at times if I really have it in there! I am certainly in more control of my cravings and making better choices. It's funny but today I saw my mom for the 1st time since my surgery and when I was leaving...she told me to wait. She wanted to give me some apple pie to take home! I told her I would LOVE to...but I couldn't. I guess that's what moms do.
  5. Hi Candi. I just had my lap band on the 19th of June. While in the hospital, I made it a point to ask the nurses what they thought of lap band in comparison to Gastric bypass. I got the same answer each time an the said "definitely lap band. People with gastric have a much harder time. And they tend to have ongoing problems". This came from thin nurses who work with a lot of bariatric patients. It helped me to feel better about my decision. I hope it helps you too. Good luck!
  6. Hi mommytoethan and Ladybird. I am nancie from California. Do you have room for one more buddy? I too am looking for some lap band friends. I was banded on June 19. So far.. I'm doing good but a little hungry.
  7. I have not been banded yet....tomorrow is my big day! Is there something I should know about?? what is DS? Should I expect to start having problems with gas? Should I warn my family and buy them gas masks? Please Reply:confused:
