I took Saxenda and only lost a couple of pounds but I would be willing to try this when it becomes available - if my insurance covers it. I think anyone that has more than 50lbs to lose would still be better off with surgery. I technically need to lose 75lbs to be normal BMI but would be comfortable with only losing 30-40lbs.
If you don't qualify for the VSG due to your BMI then I would suggest looking into ESG since it is for people with lower BMI's. However, ESG is typically not covered by a lot of insurance plans.
I have Aetna also and was required to take the test in order to qualify since my BMI is only 36. I really didn't think I had sleep apnea either but took it and found out I have very mild sleep apnea which helped me qualify.
