  1. I have Aetna POS Health Insurance and I was wondering how long it takes after all your pre-requisites are done? They don't cover Dieticians and the bills for the surgery and test are becoming qwite expensive. Any info would be great.:confused2:
  2. Jenny, has your dr. ever explained why he feels so strongly about gastric? I would consult with him on the band maybe he will feel diffrently my dr. doesn't agree with Gastric unless your ay less 300-400 lbs over weight. He says it's because it really doesn;t teach you how to properly eat. Maybe if you expalin to him how wonderful he has been in so many ways you would hate to have to take your business elsewere. Maybe he/she will have a change of heart.
  3. I started my 6 mo journey and they wanted me to loose 26 lbs before surgery. I also meet with a dietician every two weeks .. dietician is not coverd by my insurance because it's not a MD doing it!! it cost 127.00 everytime I go. I keep telling myself to hang in there. It gets confusing because she said I should only loose 1 -2 lbs a week so it feels like forever to get to the 26.
  4. Jenny, welcome!!! I'm new to the boards and I started my process in April. These boards are a wealth of information and the days when I feel like i'm the only one in the world with weight problems i come here. Everyone here can say "I understand" and mean it. Attend support group meetings, ASK Questions!! the more you know the better descisions you make. I have an auto immune disorder calle Sarcoidosis it started in my sinus area nad has migrated to my lungs.. eventually it will effrct me like Systic Fibrosis so my descision was an easy one. I have a great husband and two beautiful girls who need me. As I hear so much on these sites "The weight didn't come on over night so it will take more than a night to take it off." Good Luck
