  1. Photog - how are you doing? Where are you in San Diego?
  2. I must be really a big blabber mouth, my husband would probably agree! :biggrin2: But I don't care!! I told no one but my husband about it while I was doing the research and thinking about it. Now that my decision has been made, I am telling anyone who will listen!! Its not like my big fat butt isn't obvious, and most, not all but most, people are supportive. And you know what if there not, who cares, they are probably just jealous anyway!! At the end of the day its your body, your health and your life...so besides your husband/wife it doesn't really matter what anyone else has to say. Anyway thats how I see it.
  3. Jodie, Don't be discouraged!! Just keep plugging alone and it will happen for you, you have brought yourself this far!! Sometimes I think we all forget how hard the battle is, its just one step at a time thats all. As for letting the surgeons office or whomever know you are done, my surgeon gave me a check list sheet and a fax number to have the primary doc fax the results over and also sign the check list...but don't get me wrong I will be all over the doctor to make sure that gets done!! For me once all that is complete the surgeons office will send a request for authorization to the insurance company. But I was impatient or proactive however you want to look at it and called the insurance company and asked if it was covered, they say it is. Lastly, to jazz up the posts you can do a couple things, go into edit your profile and do some stuff there and also I saw a post yesterday somewhere, you can search for it, to add the ticker to your signature...
  4. Shelby Congratulations!! That is awesome....it seems like a long road but not that we are all kind of at the end, it goes pretty fast!! I hope that I get all I need done ackomplished on Monday when I see my doctor. I am sooooooo ready to be thin again...would you believe I used to work at Hooters? I don't even want to think about the orange shorts!!!:biggrin2: Okay because I probably couldn't even get in one leg:w00t:!! Good for you calling the insurance company, I am happy that you took matters into your own hands...here is something really good to remember on the journey...IF IT IS TO BE ITS UP TO ME!!! Good luck
  5. Good lord...I don't if I am less nervous or not!! :confused2: I am not stupid by any means but counting back from 100 by 7's holy crap...were you allowed to use a calculator
  6. Susan, What a great gift for Independance Day!! Your lapband!! I am excited for you...so what you are on day 2 of the liquid diet...how is it going are you hungry?
  7. AKgirl, How are you doing so far? Are you in alot of pain, back to work, etc?
  8. Hey Ali! I have a preop appt on Monday with my PCP for bloodwork and chest xray, etc. Then I think all I have to do is have a psych exam and I should be good to go. I could actually get the band at the end of July if everything works out, but who knows... I have researched this for a long time so now I am just really impatient and want to get the band and move on. You know what I mean?
  9. I am hoping to be banded in August some time :rolleyes2:and was just looking for anyone else in the San Diego :seeya:area who is on the same path as me!! I am using Dr. G. Mueller who I like very much, he seems to know what he is doing. And he laughs at my jokes, so thats always a plus. Anyway if you are up for a chat about all things lapband in San Diego, please let me know.!!:biggrin2:
  10. Hi there, for those of you who have had the psych eval already what was it like? I am nervous about that portion for some reason, more nervous about that then the actual band...
  11. I agree with Alicia totally!! I have not gotten my band yet, I am hoping for early August, but the few main reasons for me is the adjustablitiy of it. Also, what if something crazy happens in your life, you can take the band out, there is no reversing bypass. And lastly, and probably most important for me is, I don't want to lose the weight super fast, I want my body to adjust to the loss and my skin to shrink on its own. I have seen people that have the bypass and their looks terrible...okay maybe I am vain but for me its a big deal.
  12. Hi everyone. I am so glad to hear that you all are as impatient as I am!! I thought it was just me. I am getting obsessed about the band. I started this process in February and now I think I should be banded in August. I have a preop appointment with my primary dr on June 23rd for the EKG, bloodwork and chest xray. Then of course the insurance want a physc exam done and then hopefully they will approve me. As soon as I desided I wanted the band the waiting is killing me!!!
  13. I am hoping to be banded in early August but have a friend that has a band and her port doesn't stick out. Also her scars are getting smaller as her skin is shrinking. Who cares about the scars? I just want to be thinner and healthier and enjoy life!! Just think of them as battle scars, a battle you will win against FAT
