  1. Hello, all! I'm from Alabama and seeing Dr. DeWitt in B'ham. I've had my seminar, consult and getting ready to have psych eval and the nutrition/physical therapy/EKG and then we'll see! This is my first post and I have been lurking for awhile, probably since June. I am nervous, excited, scared and ready for a tool that will help me lose weight and keep it off! I have 'half' of me to lose! Also, I have a condition called ulcerative colitis--pancolitis--I take four horse pills that may cause me to not be a candidate for lapband. Dr. D is looking into and did talk about gastric bypass, too. I really don't want the riskier surgery and would like a tool that lasts lifetime, like the band. Good to know others have gone to Dr. DeWitt--any advice? Any questions I should ask??
