I find that I can tolerate 4-6 oz of soup or liquids in one sitting without a lot of trouble. But once I start pushing 6, I have instant regret. My surgery was 11/3.
I just did yesterday after taking dulcolax. I’d went like 6 days. Sleeved 11/3. It’s been pure liquid since. TMI but just needed the dulcolax to move the last remaining solids from my system from pre op. I lost 2 lbs just from the BM for a total of 11 lbs the first week.
I agree—that large incision where the pulled the stomach out is the most sore! I learned my stomach does not like crystal light or any other artificial sweetener. Water and protein it is ?
Same here I had surgery Tuesday and yesterday was truly awful. So much pain and nausea. They offered to keep me another night but I figured I could at least go home and be miserable in my own bed. I can say now that it’s Thursday I’m not feeling near as bad as I did yesterday.
Generally you see if you have a hiatal hernia and check for gastritis. If you have either, a sleeve could make things worse and they’d generally opt for a bypass.
