What does it feel like? Well, for me, my heart races, I get super tired/weak, I may barf, or have runs (or both)....basically felt like death (for me). It was always because of sugar and in the early days, the death feelings lasted a more than a couple hours.
Now (almost 2 years out), I still get the dumpies, but not as often nor as strong as before (AND i eat way more sugar now than back then).
    Not everyone dumps, though.
    P.S. I was sleeved.

Go for a stool softener - much more gentle on your system. Remember, you’re not eating very much so your body doesn’t have as much waste to get rid of each day. If I hadn’t/haven’t been for two/three days I take a softener, like coloxyl, that night. Add some soluble fibre like benefibre to your diet (avoid the ones that swell in you tummy), keep your fluids up. And relax. Don’t force your self. The stress will bind you up more. Stick to a routine. Take a magazine, a device or a book in with you & let nature & gravity do their thing. Don’t let your body get used to depending on bowel stimulants to make you go. You will poop again ?

This is radical but I am two years out and eat three prunes with breakfast. I haven’t needed laxatives or Colace in ages.

I was just telling my husband that the diet isn't so bad, or the portions but NOT drinking during or immediately after a meal is HARD! But I found an odd solution for myself.
Biotene moisturizing mouth spray. My dentist gave me a bottle because I suffer from dry mouth. After some meals, I squirt a little in my mouth and it moisturizes it, doesn't taste bad either. SLIGHTLY minty. It helps me by moisturizing my mouth as well as giving my mouth a little freshness jolt. Then, there's always brushing your teeth, but not so easy when you're away from the home. Give it a try, can't hurt. Good luck.

I really watched carb intake during the weight loss phase, and as sillykitty said, there just wasn't much room for them after getting protein, and then veggies in. My weight came off very quickly - over 100# in 7 months, but I really did journal everything and was very careful. I did my best to maximize the first 6 months that I had heard about, and it worked for me. I added grain based carbs and fats very very slowly as I approached goal weight.
I eat quite a lot of carbs now, as whole grains, seeds, legumes, fruit, and starchy vegetables, I do not eat bread or processed grains except for some chick pea pasta, I am very active and am maintaining my weight loss. If a few pounds creep back on, I cut down on the grains and nut butters. That takes care of it.

If your insurance will cover Nascobal (RX B12 nasal spray), then Nasobal will mail you all of your other vitamins (Multi, Iron, Calcium) for free. That's what I've been doing, and it's great!
