3 months banded then removed
I am so sorry to hear about this. Try to keep your spirits up, and be proud of that 50 lb loss. God must have a different plan for you. I'm sorry you have had such a hard time. Take Care.

To tell, or not to tell...family and friends
You are so right! So many times in life I have proudly announced my next diet attempt only to REGRET it! I have the support of my husband and Mom, so I think I will leave it at that. Thanks for taking the time to respond. I wish you the best too!

To tell, or not to tell...family and friends
I feel the same way. I think my inlaws would be hurt to know that I had surgery without their knowledge, BUT I also think they would never understand WLS. Their entire family is fit and always commenting on diets and who needs to lose what. I am very uncomfortable discussing this with them as my family is mostly heavy. Let me know what you decide to do and I'll do the same! Good luck on your journey!

I have really enjoyed this site! I am on the path to LapBand....I have had the main 3 exams, just waiting on insurance approval. I am a compulsive overeater and can't imagine what satisfied will feel like. I am excited and extremely anxious. P.S. Where do you get all of those cute "tickers"???????

Hello new life
That's great that you could share this experience with your Mom. My mom was always heavy, got sick, and now her medication has caused her to lose ALL the weight. I finished my dietician and nurse exam today, so now just waiting on the insurance approval. I think today when I was meeting with the dietician, it really hit me about how hard this is going to be. I have always just thought I would eat less of what I eat now, but it sounds way more difficult than that. IS IT?

Considering Lap-Band Questions re ED
I really needed to read your reply. I think you are so right about we all have an eating disorder, otherwise we wouldn't be having surgery! I have struggled off and on with Bulimia for years. But it could best be described as compulsive overeating. Do you still have the cravings or do they subside???? I should have my surgery this summer.

Hello new life
Hi, my doctor is Dr. Dean at the Bariatric Center. You have done great! It is so nice to read success stories like yours. I can't imagine that there is really something that will help me! Who was your doc? I have a friend who used Dr. Spivak in Houston. Talk to you soon!:rolleyes2:

Hello new life
I had my psychological yesterday too! I am also very nervous about my ability to sabotage this program, just like I have done with every other diet I have tried. I hope this will be a tool that can help like nothing before! I am so nervous. Keep me posted on your progress. I should be scheduled before summer ends too!
