  1. Stratusphr- I’ve heard that for most the gerd goes away. I’ve also heard the recovery is a bit more rough than with sleeve. I had open rny to begin with. While it was painful at first, it does get better as you heel. Follow your doctors instructions and do your post op diet which is usually sipping liquids at first. You can do this. It’s worth it. You can do hard things. Best of luck to you.
  2. My date got pushed back to February 16th. I have to lose 20-30lbs by Dec 7 th to go ahead with it. I’m down 11. So nerve wracking. Hope the rest of you are well.
  3. Sometimes you feel like your the only one that “didn’t do it right” because you see all these success stories online but there are many of us in this boat otherwise revisions wouldn’t be needed. My doctor told me not to expect too much but I’m going to work hard on this. Im determined. We got this
  4. I heard that too but I’m willing to work my revised tool better this time. I abused my stomach too much the first time.
  5. Hello! Yes the process seems to go faster depending on insurance. It kinda hits you in the face. Surgery is around the corner
  6. I’ve heard converting helps a lot. I had Rny in 2002 and have gained back weight for various reasons. I’m having distal bypass.
  7. Hi J! I’m excited but nervous too. Right now I’m focusing on my pre op weight loss directive from my surgeon. I have to lose 20-30 lbs by my surgery date. It’s a little nerve wracking but I know I can do it.
  8. I’m scheduled to have my revision finally. I’m excited and nervous. Any surgery buddies in November?
  9. Yes! I will be sending you positive thoughts and prayers for Wednesday. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
  10. Hi all, I am considering doing my revision through A university medical program and the revision the do for rny gastric bypass is a distal gastric bypass where they bypass even more of the intestine. I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with this good and bad and wouldn’t mind sharing. Thanks.
  11. My surgery is scheduled for 12/28. I’m on pre op for three weeks and doing great. But there is a chance that COVID numbers will delay my surgery due to hospital needs. I’m praying it doesn’t.
  12. My surgeon changed my surgery date to 12/28. Sad but grateful. I start 3 weeks of liver shrinking pre op diet on 12/7. I’m so ready.
  13. Starting my 2 week pre op diet today!
  14. I am December 15th also! Best of luck to you
  15. Somehow the opening to my intestine from my stomach got stretched out so they are re tightening that. Right now food just flows right through into my intestine without really pausing in my stomach.
  16. December 15th gastric bypass revision. So excited and nervous.
  17. In my case no because it is for repair but if strictly for weight loss than yes.
  18. Hi all! I’m new here. I finally got my surgery date and I’m very excited. I had rny in 2002 lost 175lbs and then after I had my daughter gained it all back in 10years. My surgeon says my pouch is fine but the opening to my intestines is big so good just flows through. I’m ready to get this done so I can be active and healthy.
