  1. The two family members that know about my surgery are starting to make me feel uncomfortable. I just had my sleeve two months ago, and while i don’t really see a difference except in my collarbones, i can fit into things i never thought i could. And my shirt and pants size went down significantly. They keep telling me im “skinny” and “so small” in a nice way but I don’t see it at all! Especially in my upper body. I see it on the scale but not anywhere else.its starting to get annoying because they'll tell me that i'm getting small so much and when i start to believe them and feel a little confident they'll tell me that once i start exercising i’ll look better.which i am. Not much because i struggle with depression but im genuinely trying. I exercise 3-4 times a week. I just wish theyd shut up about me “losing all that weight” and then telling me exercise will help me. I know that already!! luckily im starting an exercise program on may 10th that im joining for two months. Its already paid for so I dont have any excuses.Does anyone else have non supportive family members? How do you deal with them?
  2. thank you so much. its just really bothering me.
  3. no, but i live with one and they eat very unhealthily
  4. The medical term is called Acanthosis nigricans. I’ve had it since I was a child. I’m dark skinned but it’s still very noticeable. I’ve lost 33 pounds since surgery 7 weeks ago. Does anyone who struggles with this have any success stories? Or what should I be doing now to make sure it goes away
  5. Yesterday I had a bite of cauliflower pizza and felt sick. I threw it up (my first time ever throwing up since surgery) and have felt nauseous since then. After I threw up I was nauseous lying down for about 30 min then it went away. I woke up today and was instantly so nauseous I needed to sit down. I’m lying down currently and my heart rate is in the 100s. I’m scared any advice?
  6. Thank you I was just dehydrated
  7. Thank you i was just dehydrated
  8. Thanks. I just spoke to my surgeon he told me to go the ER. I’m scared.
  9. I had surgery 7 weeks ago and I’ve seen my surgeon twice since then. I was cleared to start regular food at 4 weeks (week 1-clear liquids week 2-full liquids week three pureed/soft). I did have beef once when I was cleared for solids, but I don’t think I should have. Anyways I’m paranoid that I’ll get a leak. I’m still kind of scared to eat and most of the time I eat I get really scared, because my appetite came back and sometimes I eat too fast.Any advice or reassurance? Every time I search in this forum for the exact food I ate and read everyone’s responses before I eat. And then I see people saying they found a leak like 2 months after surgery and it really freaks me out.
  10. Thank you so much you’re the best!
  11. Thx, I’m having faith it will go away completely
  12. I still have low energy and I’m a bit lazy (thanks depression!) but working out and exercising has ALWAYS made me nauseous before surgery. I tried googling to see what it might be but nothing has helped. Anyways I’m trying to tone my body now, I told myself that this week I was going to start working out but I give up in 1 minute because I’m so winded. Anyone have any tips about the nausea and motivation?
  13. I did it!!! Thanks so much everyone. I did a 27 min walk on the treadmill I burned 137 calories and I just finished another 10 minute at home workout!
  14. Thanks!that’s a good idea I’ll try it’s just so hard to even have a routine
  15. Is it a good idea to go to red lobster and get their maple chicken and potatoes at 4 weeks post op? I know I’m not going to be able to eat much, I had a slice of low fat turkey earlier and it made me feel bloated.I think it’s because I eat to fast.
  16. Yes my family is the same,I ended up not going though thankfully
  17. Hi,congrats on your surgery!I ended up not going,I looked at the menu and decided against it.I don’t eat seafood, I was just gonna go with a family member.
  18. I’m cleared for solid foods
  19. Today is my fourth week out and my NUT says that I am cleared for a regular diet as long as I can tolerate soft foods which I can. I told her that I ate a piece of baked chicken with the skin on it by mistake, as She says to stay away from the skin because it’s high in fat and calories. But is there any chance that I would get a leak because I ate the skin? I know I should probably ask my surgeon but I’d just like some input from anyone, because I’ve read that someone ate an apple and granola at three weeks out and it gave them a leak.
  20. No, 24 in 4 weeks and 20 On pre op diet
  21. Bariatric Fusion complete chewable. I’m 4 weeks out
  22. How many weeks out are you? And does it give you any discomfort?
  23. Tommorow will be my third week post op.I start soft foods tomorrow. The problem is I’ve been having trouble eating. Every time I stand up I get so dizzy, and I’m forgetting things a lot.I’ve been taking my vitamins; I don’t know what to eat because I have no appetite ( I know this is normal). Today I tried to heat up some canned chicken noodle soup ( without the noodles) and I was instantly repulsed by it . Even yogurt I have no interest in eating. I’m just sticking to 2 protein shakes a day and sometimes even less. I don’t even know what I’ll eat on soft foods because I don’t eat eggs or tuna. Any advice?
