i haven’t tried this pizza but if you like to cook, I found this recipe and made it. It was really good. Admittedly I was skeptical about the chicken crust but it was good!

Thank you for your kind words and understanding! I’m just kinda done dealing with them. I have started a new role within my company and I want to be courteous and let them know a time frame of when this will be happening. It seems like the world revolves around Allina’s time frame. So annoying!

Thanks so much for sharing. I can absolutely relate to questions and concerns going unanswered. I went through the weight management program with Allina. In the beginning, I felt supported and heard. As I progressed through the program I was able to get a handle on my eating and increase exercise. I felt good.
I followed calorie counts, diet, vitamins, and exercise which led to meeting weight loss goals (which were steep) every month for nearly a year. Like you, I was getting contradictory advice from my therapist and dietitian. That took some navigating. Physician and dietician visits began to feel impersonal and rushed and I wasn't getting much out of them. These are a few contradictory statements I was told:
Weigh yourself every day--no don't weigh yourself every day
Track calories and weigh portions-- don't count calories instead focus on hunger cues
It's ok to have a 100 calorie treat a day-- reward yourself with a treat at the end of the week if you've maintained your diet
On my last visit, my Dr. said the dietician had seen concerning calorie counts in my food journal. I was confused because I had kept with the 1200 calorie a day diet that she had recommended and as I said, was meeting weight goals. Also, she hadn't asked to see my food journal in 3 visits/ 3 months. I was floored and confused. I was following the diet they told me to and they waited 3 months to tell me they had concerns!?? What??
I thought there was a misunderstanding so I tried to explain-- this is what you told me to eat, I'm doing what you told me to, you haven't looked at my journal the last 3 visits. They wouldn't hear me. Even my therapist contacted them to say I was doing well and asked them to reconsider. I was kicked out of the program until I completed an ED assessment. At the time, there was a lot of shuffling happening in the organization, maybe that had something to do with it. Regardless, I felt bullied and abandoned. I continued seeing the therapist so I didn't slip back into eating when stressed.
The whole situation was really disappointing because I have read a few positive experiences on this forum about Allina, that just wasn't mine. On a positive note, my experience with my therapist was good overall. I learned methods that have stuck with me.
Again thanks so much for sharing. It's helpful to hear I wasn't the only one with a less than great experience. I hope everyone gets the absolute best care no matter where they go.
Good luck! I hope you're doing amazing!

That's right, no looking backward. I learned a lot from the experience. Hopefully, this is a reminder of how crucial it is to find a care team that we can communicate with and one where we feel heard.

I’m going to pipe in and say that this will be my second time going through Allina. And so far both times have proven to be a nightmare in terms of communication with the care team. I was only speaking of Dr. Svedson as a surgeon. Allina as a whole sucks. I completed my pre surgical requirements mid February and they have yet to submit any of my paperwork into insurance. I have called every day and no one seems to return my calls. Very frustrating. I’m really close to pulling everything and going to another program

I wish you didn't have to deal with this, no wonder you're frustrated. It sounds like you're in a real tough spot here. So, you either have to continue waiting or move on. I guess the result of them failing to get paperwork submitted is it's giving you time to decide what you want to do.
Whatever you decide, trust yourself on what's best.

    Hello all,
I had RNY on 11/11. Went well. I was surprised at how little pain I had (and I’m a baby). I stopped pain meds the next day. Still on clear liquids and I cannot eat another bite of jello again. EVER.
Heads up - they are canceling WLS surgeries in the Minneapolis area starting this week. I just made it. Hoping you all can get your surgeries done before they stop!

Complications during surgery was #1 and getting my hopes up and them cancelling on me at the last second was #2. I guess a distant #3 was it not working at all and all the work was for nothing.

    I had two major fears:
    1. I would have some sort of serious complication. For some reason, people delight in telling you horror stories once they know you are having bariatric surgery and all that gave me anxiety.
    2. I was afraid it wouldn't work. I don't know why, I just wasn't confident that the surgery would be effective for me.
As it turned out, both fears were unnecessary. I had no major issues with surgery and I'm happy with my results so far. ? And now I get to be a counter-example for all those horror stories, LOL.

I agree. Plus from what I understand, those mortality rates are actually on the lower end for surgeries. And way better than the mortality rate of staying morbidly obese. I actually think my plastic surgeries were probably more dangerous because I was under anesthesia for so many hours.

you're going to find very few people who regret having surgery. A couple here and there, yes - but most people, no. Most people claim their only regret is that they didn't have it sooner. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I should have done it years ago.

I definitely had my share of complications (nothing life threatening) over the years and had more than one revision because of this but I don't regret it.
The only thing I regret is that I postponed revision from lap band for so long. I don't know if hesitating bought me some complications that could've been avoided but in the end it's speculative so no reason to mull it over in my head.
When it comes to "regret": I don't think you will get many "I regret it" answers for several reasons.
    1) Most people on here are relatively early out. They're still in the weight loss phase when rewards are rolling in big or in early maintenance phase. That's too soon for e. g. long-term nutritional deficiencies or transfer addiction to roar their ugly heads. It's also too early for regain struggles.
    2) There is high selection bias on internet boards. Here you either see "surgery newbies" or very successful people who want to celebrate their success and maybe make sure to stay on track by posting here or simply continue hanging around because they want to stay in contact with certain users.
    3) People having serious ongoing complications or insufficient weight loss or major regain and therefore feeling regret don't tend to hang around here. Maybe they meet elsewhere or suffer in silence, I don't know. Once in a while you see a new user posting about regain and "wanting help". They make a thread, get several answers and seem to vanish into thin air again but they don't hang around so you can e. g. follow their journey for some months to come.
