I have spent the past year and a half losing 40 pounds on my own to determine that weight loss surgery was the right tool for me. Obesity is a disease and weight loss surgery is a cure for this disease and I am desperate for a cure. I have surgery scheduled on July 2nd, 2020 and I am nervous. I am nervous about failing myself and those that are supporting me in this journey. I want to experience success that I am craving more than anything. I want more than anything to feel comfortable with who I am in my skin, but I am also afraid that I will always be critical of my body regardless of the size. What if I never love myself? I guess I will never know unless I try.
