  1. Brilliant Make3, so glad its all over for you, and the news about the fill is tremendous!!! So was it a general anesthetic, well at least you were prepared for the worse, even though it didnt happen eh lol. I live just outside Liverpool in the North of England, but many years ago when I was about 15 I used to live in Sandwich and Deal, both in Kent. My dad was in the RAF so we travelled around a lot. My sister and brother in law live in washington, it is a small world. A war bride, ahh thats so sweet, is your mum still alive? Mine is and she's nearly 95 !
  2. Thank you Baarbs, thats so nice of you xx fatty patty, thats hilarious, only because thats what my bro calls me even when i was a size 12, many moons ago. Cos thats my name too. The part that I love about the band is that once you get to your sweet spot, you dont feel hungry so you dont care if you cant eat a lot, I hope to get to that next fill. There's not many horror stories about these bands, if any??? most surgery is straightforward and most bands work exceptionally well, I would never have had another band placed if there were any adverse effects. I think its nothing short of a miracle. So good losing to you all, work with your band, you have to get to know it and befriend it.
  3. You my dear, are very welcome. I was quite terrified myself, and had nobody to ask, so i understand. There's nothing to be scared of, as I said my port area was quite sore, this was because the surgeon had to cut the band away from some muscle that the band/port had attached itself to. It was only a burning feelng nothing unbearable at all, and I am one big baby. Let me know how you get on sweetheart i will be pleased to hear from you and keep smiling xxxx
  4. Hi Shoes, welcome back, so nice to hear from you. I cant believe how much weight you've lost, its amazing...well done you!!!! dont be a stranger xxx I always book my appointment with Freddy through Dr Chris Deprez by email, he always replies and I've never had any problems. If anyone wants his mail addy, please pm me.
  5. Hunny you'll be fine, i had my whole band replaced a year ago, and was only a little sore in the port area after surgery. I now have 10 scars instead of 5, but i dont care cos I'm too old to wear a bikini anyway. This new band is excellent, I am so glad I had the surgery over again. btw we are the same age. Good luck xx
  6. Jojo, my appointment is at 2:10 with freddyboy in manchester on 11th march, so if you're earlier I wont get to see you. I dont know if I sposed to tell you sammy's news or not, but I'm sure Sammy wont mind. She had a beautiful little girl on 28th feb....she only put on 9 pounds in the whole of her pregnancy. Well done sweetheart!!!:w00t::biggrin: A little sister for Harrison xxx
  7. I'll mail Chris tomorrow, thanx for the date info Jojo, what time are you going?
  8. Hi girlies, glad you're all ok, you all sound good. I was thinking of going for a fill with freddyboy in March as I can eat most things and am not losing anything. Anyone going to Manchester in March? I keep thinking if I hadnt gone to have a de-dill when I went to Oz, I would be at target by now  Ahh well bring on the next fill.
  9. WOW!!! So many posts, I dont have the time to read them, as going to take Gabrielle over to see my Mum. So glad its all over for you Jojo and Jeanie, will look forward to reading all about your adventures. and thanx everyone for your sweet wishes about my MUm xxxx
  10. Hi Eric, many thanx for taking the time to post about jeans progress, so glad its over for her and that she's doing well. bet you were scared when they thought it was you for the op lol. Give jean and Jojo our love cant wait for them to tell of their experiences. There are too many posts for me to reply to as I'm on the lappy and I hate it. I feel a little low too, as yesterday I had to put my Mum in a home, it was getting too much for me, I did everything for her apart from breathe. My family and even the social workers told me it was too much for me, after her living with us for 7 years, and she has deteriorated dreadfully since she broke her hip. So I feel like a failure, i know I'm not but I feel so sorry for Mum, she was scared to be going into a home, but I just couldnt go on, it was making me so stressed out. Sorry to be a bore. Will come back when I feel more positive.
  11. Yes Carrie, I would agree, I hated sitting up to go to sleep, I suffered that for 3 months lost 3 stone and when I had the defill had a great night's sleep that night and ever since. But I couldnt hardly drink any sort of liquid , I could tolerate cream crackers more, so had to crunch ice cubes. How different these bands are aint they. Good luck to Jeanie and Jojo, cant wait for you both to get back. Take care of each other. xxx
  12. Sorry that didnt work for you fatpants. My daughter and her friend who were banded in 2004 and have both got to their target weight swear by it. Of course anythings worth a try when you are so uncomfortable, what works for some doesnt for others. If you still feel as if somethings stuck, could it be the actual restriction?
  13. Thank you TIN for your apology, all that I wonder is why in the first place. Jeanie, you're not far away from me, I'm in Runcorn so its pretty easy to go to Manchester, right near the airport, Frederik does the fills there for £90. He is good at it too.
  14. Welcome jeaniejinx. I know just how you feel, we all do, its only apprehension really, the fear of the unknown. Wont be long and you'll be a loser!!! I think most of us needed about 3 or 4 fills until we got to our sweet spot, sometime with 'hiccups' in between Each of us is different, some people need less fills and some people more. Its something you wont actually know until you get your fills. I have had 5 fills, my fourth one took me up to 6.5 mls, which was far too much, I needed to have .5 taken out, but I wanted to lose more quickly (which was silly I spose) I lost over 2 stone and then I had a defill cos I was going on a 3 weeks holiday to the far east and oz. I could then eat whatever I wanted, only in small portions, but was never hungry, I also drank a lot of booze, and only put on a little weight, about 2 kilos. Then I went for a top up, but am only at 5mls I think and am still my pre-defill weight, which is wonderful. But now I want a little bit more put in so my restriction is better. I hope that helps you a little hun, and best wishes for next week. xx
  15. A BEAUTIFUL MESSAGE ABOUT GROWING OLD: BUGGER I've forgotten what it was....:
  16. Oh God sorry Fatpants I didnt see your post I forgot to go to the next page. Like I said to HC I know how it goes, especially the curdled milk waking you up, its horrendous... you poor thing. Have you tried taking a fizzy drink to shift it, usually that works for me, I know you feel like you couldnt possibly get it down and the pain is awful for a few short minutes, but whatever is lodged always comes up for me, and you feel so much relief its unbelievable. Also any sort of stress will cause the band to tighten, and if you are on mostly water etc, that will make it tighten too. Let us know how it goes chick , good luck xxx
  17. I love it, that is exactly what I'd do Carrie, womens logic! You go girl.
  18. Oh dear Homecare, what a bummer. I know what you're going through and according to my family I was a right misery through my period of being over-filled. I was overjoyed nevertheless cos the weight was dropping off. I'm sorry I cant give you any advice really hun, silly though it may seem. Just make sure that you drink plenty, cos I didnt, I struggled getting anything down which caused bowel problems if you remember. So look after yourself, and if you fancy anything, eat what you can of it. I couldnt eat ice lollies either, the only thing I could eat was cream crackers with butter and marmite. If you like the idea of that just try it may work for you too.
  19. glad you mentionmed it hun, cos after all, you have paid for aftercare and that is one of the most important things, you shouldnt have had to take yourself to the bathroom if you felt so groggy. One thing I have to say on behalf of the Spire (was Bupa) Southampton is that I was checked all through the night and if awake was asked if I needed anything, the nursing was superb.. Big Sis, you will soon get that off, brilliant weight loss so far, I have to lose another couple of stone too. Sorry this is such a quick post, laters xxx
  20. Woot, so glad you dropped in Big Sis, missed you and Gillian like mad. You always made me chuckle with your banter. Thats not bad putting on 3lbs, good luck with your new start/continuation. Thats what I love about my band, I know if I put a few pounds on I can get it off. I have been a bit naughty, a sweet friend (sorry for the pun) bought me one of those little chocolate fountaIN thingys for xmas, how cruel, I love it, and have ate so much chocolate its a wonder I havent put weight on. But because I cant eat much at any meal I have been scoffing the melted choc, with marshmallows...I know my bad. But I am silly cos I'm still the same weight as I was when I came back from my trip in November. With xmas I just havent tried, but I will soon. Good luck Tracey xxxx Poor you Cankster, what prats.... not answering your bell, and causing you to fall. I would have screamed the place down, that is unforgivable. Maybe worth while mentioning it to Dr Chris or Freddyboy. Take care , everyone . xxx

  22. Bless you Bobo, seems a shame that it takes a bit of a rumpus to get the old members back on. But people move on dont they. Sadly thats life. Be interesting to read the posts from the newbies once they are banded.
  23. Hi Bobo, nice to see you, yes i spose it was amusing except when you're on the receiving end its not so nice. And Garry we are not teasing you babe, we luvs you to bits. But what about Flirtydrawers? I see she was on here a little while ago, but very quiet, have you spoken to her, is she ok?
  24. Thats what I enjoyed Jo, fitting into a size 18 jeans and I still have a few stones to go, but I will get there, I'll be happy with a size 14 at my ripe old age. Woot...bring on the next fill Freddyboy, when i can afford it lol.
