My surgery was Wednesday February 12th. It that night I walked and felt ok. I was shocked and so upset when I was weighed the next morning and had gained 13lbs!!! By that night up 15lbs. When I left to go home I was 16lbs heavier than when I checked in. I was so down but otherwise felt pretty good. Started feeling rough Sunday afternoon couldn't get my protein down, it was like slime to me. Monday and Tuesday cried all day. I thought I made a huge mistake. Luckily I had a doctor appointment. The staff and the doctor were awesome. They gave me pep talks and more ideas to help. Since Wednesday February 19th things have been 100% better. I'm hopeful the worst is behind me. I lost the extra 16lbs plus 14 more. If you're getting ready for surgery try to remember everyday gets a little better ?

90 days to full heal - Only a small percent get a leak and that is rare- Do not let you head play mind games you will do a test after surgery to see if it is all good

It's going to take a couple of months for the tissues to heal. You have to live in the moment - one day at a time. You can't be worrying about future events that have never happened yet. Keep bringing yourself back to a mindful state of enjoying each day, as it unfolds. If you are consumed by future worries you will never be able to enjoy the day you have now,

I got the official call today. After my insurance company delaying a decision because they needed additional paperwork, I finally got approval and am scheduled for March 3. So I’m technically in the wrong group now, but since I’m early March I’m going to hang out here for all of your post op stories. I’m so excited. My pre op is just one day liquid diet so that won’t be too bad.

Mine is tomorrow, too. My surgery is not until 2 in the afternoon. I feel like sleep is going to be pretty elusive...Best of luck to you! See you on the other side of this thing!

I’m getting so excited!!! I seriously can’t function at work. I register tomorrow at the hospital and meet with my Dr again for my pre-op appointment and then Friday at 130 is my surgery! I’m having the sleeve done. Such a long wait so very glad it’s finally time!!

Hi I’m new and my surgery date is February 17 awesome day for both of us I’m sure I’m like super excited going to my second week today of my liquid diet trying to get everything right

I'm on day 3...in addition to liquids I can have either 2 yogurts or 1 yogurt and 1 protein bar. Not terrible so far but 7 days to go and then 2 days in clear liquids only!! This group is keeping me going, I love to check in on everyone's progress and encouragement. Everyone here rocks, thanks February Surgery Pals.

I’m from Denmark and have GP the 24. February in Athens. I’m going alone and I am seeking others who will have surgery around the same time.

Congratulations to everyone who has already gone! It’s so great to read your updates and be able to know what’s ahead for us who still have to go. I’m on day 2 of my 10 day pre-op diet. And I’m not going to complain. Yes I feel horrible but......I feel for those who have to be on liquids the whole time. I am able to have a little food on my diet so I don’t feel like I can really complain lol

I’m so angry just recd a call saying my surgery was denied doe Feb 4th because I had a 2lb weight gain at my December visit I’m sobbing right now office says we can try to start all over again for a may date but I’m done I give up and can go through all this planning again

My surgery date is February 6!! Can’t wait! I’ve been on this journey for almost 2 years! It’s finally gonna happen!!!

I’m scheduled for gastric bypass on Feb. 13th. Should be a great Valentine’s Day for me and the hubby. ?

Yay for all of us! I’m scheduled for February 4th to have the sleeve done and will be having it done in Puerto Vallarta .. I’m excited as well but am terrified all at once! I have a very supportive husband who has seen my weight fluctuate so much in the past 6 years and has never made me feel unattractive or undesirable. With that said, I want to do this for him as much as it is for myself. I want to feel attractive so I can make him happier! I also have really bad family genes.. my mom died 10 years ago at 60 of heart disease and I don’t want to suffer the same horrible fate she did so I decided to take control and do all I can to live a long and healthy life. Cheers to everyone who has decided to take control as well! We all should be so happy that this option is available:)

WOW, i am close to one year in and i started this journey at 306lbs and i am 191lbs. I started at a clothing size of 22 and now i am a size12. Wow wow wow!!!!! All heath issues resolved as well.
