  1. How are my fellow December surgeries doing? When was your surgery, and how much have you lost so far? Mine was 12/30 and I have lost a little over 10lbs since surgery day!
  2. So good to see everyone improving!!! I’m still trudging along as well. I’m still trying to get used to my new tummy and when I feel full. I have not figured that out yet. I don’t feel full until way after I’ve eaten too much. It’s frustrating! After my 1 month check up, I’m going to start going to the gym regularly. What is everyone taking for vitamins?
  3. Glad to see you’re doing well!!! I feel you on purée stage!
  4. I feel you!!!!!!! If I have one more pudding I’m gonna hurl....
  5. I feel like it is slow for me because I have vowed not to be scale obsessed 😂
  6. Yes!!! I feel like we have some serious money saving in our future! I’m excited to be able to eat out again. I don’t foresee that happening until I’m at least 1 month post op though. Congrats on your loss!!!
  7. I feel like I am one of the lucky ones as well! I have had no food problems yet. I am still on a strict diet, but I don’t forsee any dumping problems in my future which I am very grateful for!!! Congrats on your progress!!!! So exciting to see everyone’s accomplishments!
  8. I’m having a minor issue with constipation as well. I just hope it won’t come to me having to take another daily medicine to fix it. Please let me know how it pans out for you at your appointment! Congrats on your loss!
  9. Starting Monday I can have tuna!!!! My diet has been super strict, I just got out of the liquid phase, thank god. I have the chewable vitamins, and so far so good. The shakes are slowly killing me though, haha. I really struggle with the protein! I think it’s going to be a constant struggle with me.
  10. I’m pretty happy with my progress as well! Go you! Water has been no issue with me, but I’m a struggle bus for protein since I’m super sick of the protein shakes.
  11. For me, I rolled on my side that wasn’t hurting the most and used my elbow to push up. It’s also easier to use your legs as momentum to roll over. I hope it gets easier for you!
  12. So I had my surgery on 12/30. Since then I have been walking and keeping up on my fluid intake. I’m in pain. Standing up straight is nearly impossible because it feels like I’m pulling at my incisions. Bending over is also impossible so it’s really hard to dress. My belly is also swollen. Is all of this normal? I just want to read others experiences so I stop being so discouraged. I have lived an active life and it is killing me that I can’t even walk a mile right now.
  13. Thank you so much for your reply.
  14. Did you have a drainage tube or catheter in the hospital? -No Did you have to go home with a drainage tube? -No Were you able to sleep on your stomach when you came home? If no, how long was it until you could? -No, it hurt to. I am 6 days out and still can’t. But I can sleep on my side. I’ve heard people recommend having a pillow for your stomach? Does that help if your surgery was laparoscopic? - yes. Have extra pillows. Even if it’s so you can stay propped up comfortably in your own bed. This was the best advice someone gave me. And last but not least...is there anything you wish you would have known about what you would experience after surgery. - I wish I would have known about all the emotions I would experience after surgery. It was a dark time for me this first week. Mourning is very real and not being able to eat real food plays with you! My best advice is exactly what everyone says, walk. It really helped me recharge myself.
  15. My parents know, and that’s it. I will tell no one else. I’m extremely private. :)
