    I'm off to surgery in Mexico on Thanksgiving. What are some items you wish you packed or you had and found invaluable? Thanks for weighing in. Dont know anyone personally who has gone threw this so family support is nill.

    Sounds like dehydration. Do everything you can to go to bed hydrated. Try ludens to suck on, too.

    Not brave enough to weigh self just yet. Sporting baggy shorts and water shoes till the fluid retention goes down. I'm sure it'd be better if I could keep legs elevated. Almost got diuretics until I read about potential for ulcers. Does anyone think compression would help? I'm walking when I can but it's been difficult to get 40 oz of liquid in. Thanks for any/all input.

    Yep, took the blood thinner shots in my abdomen, too. Elevated feet and more hydration has done wonders this morning. Thanks for the support, I'm so grateful for the sounding board and a forum to vent. 😁

    Is a drain typical? I didn't have one. Last minute I was changed from a mini bypass to a sleeve. Chapstick helped a ton. I'm feeling human today and sipping tea with collagen proteins. Yum!

    Try freezing shakes. I open carton top and eat it slowly with spoon... It makes them more palatable.

    I actually thought it best to bring minimal id... meaning leave c.c. license. Dont want to be frisked.

    Hmm, that's a sure 'fire's way to get stopped at the border. So, I have special water bottle with time and oz but you think an app is better? I'll look into it!

    I havent had surgery yet but I feel you. I know I dont have local support and I think it may help to look at youtube vloggers under wls or specifically vs. Keep the end game in mind. I'm praying for you!
