    I have extra PatchMD Vitamins!

Hi everyone! so I bought a ton of bundles from PatchMD for my sister who does not like to swallow vitamins. I'm now able to swallow vitamins and do not need them. Pictured are the ones I have (there are actually 2 vitamin C packs) - but she tried a few and just doesn't want them. Does anyone use these? If you do, I'd be happy to sell them all for $75 plus shipping depending on where you're located! I also might have another iron pack.

    Weightloss Stall

Agreed! Its been hard to exercise under quarantine - I've been able to walk every day but I think I definitely need to lower my calories a bit. I can easily eat up to 1500 calories 6 months out with things like dates, dark chocolate, and almonds which add up quick.

    Weightloss Stall

I'm hitting my 6 months out as well and have been at a stall for about a month and a half! I'm also eating around 1200 calories a day so that could be it. I have no problem eating 1200 calories so maybe I need to lower my calories a bit? I have a phone appointment with my nutritionist next week and going to discuss!

    Orthostatic Hypotension

How have you been since then? I'm dealing with this now - 4 months post op. It's pretty bad. I'm also worried it won't ever go away and my body will never adjust. It feels like chronic fatigue so I'm trying to eat more carbs later in the day. I really don't want to go on medication.
  6. Hello new friends! This is so exciting to feel such support and know that I'm not alone. I was just sleeved on 10/28 and have been having some issues - I was released on 10/31 and back in the hospital yesterday, 11/4. I feel like my body is completely shutting down. I had a really high heart rate when standing and walking and could not even brush my teeth without having to run to lay down. I have been getting my fluids (broth and water) but barely any protein because the shakes made me sick (I started on yogurt and liquid soups on Monday which has helped). They checked for blood clots and checked everything with my heart thinking that could be the cause of the shortness of breath, high heart rate and extreme fatigue. We concluded that my body is adjusting and my blood vessels have changed after surgery making it hard for me to retain electrolytes. My urine was clear though, so again Im not sure if I was dehydrated. Anyways, my blood pressure drops when I stand up and it's scaring me - the dr. said to drink more electrolytes, get more sodium, and wear compression socks. I'm hoping once I get on purees in a week that can help me get more nutrients in and more energy. Has anyone gone through this and have any tips? Any tips in general for helping the body to adjust? My body is in shock I think and trying to preserve energy for my big body while not eating enough food so maybe that's it.

Did this get better for you? I got my period a week after surgery and then 2 weeks after that, my hormones are all messed up! Horrible headache and cramps as well

    Week 3 Post VSG Troubles

I had the SAME thing happen to me. I'm 3 weeks out as well. I was never on blood pressure meds but I went through the same thing starting about a week after. Every time I stand or do anything I felt faint and racing heart. I did go back to the hospital - I wasn't dehydrated and got in so much water but after more IV fluids I DID feel better. The Dr's all said it was just my body and stress response to the surgery and also our bodies are literally trying to function with less than 500 calories a day right now. Our body will be tired and the Dr. mentioned some people's blood vessels just change in response to the surgery temporarily. My advice which has helped me is I started drinking electrolyte drinks. NOT electrolyte water but no sugar electrolyte drinks. and just more water. I sometimes just drink more than 64 ounces of water. I also wear compression socks which also help. I still get faint sometimes but even putting some real salt (not table salt) on my tongue helps when that happens too. My surgeon said in a couple months it should get better.
  9. Has anyone tried Nutrafol hair vitamins after getting the sleeve? I received a list of medications not to take 2 weeks before my sleeve which included Saw Palmetto in it because I guess it can cause bleeding? It was listed in the same category as Advil and Aspirin. I'm just wondering if anyone has taken these post surgery and seeing any results. My dietician wasn't sure so I don't know if it was just not to be taken before surgery but okay after.

    Hair loss 1 year out

Are you still taking it? Has Nutrafol helped? Nutrafol has Saw Palmetto in it which was on the list of medications to avoid before surgery since I think it can cause bleeding like Advil and Aspirin. Please let me know, thanks!

    Burping

I'm struggling with this as well. I'm worried it's going to last forever - going to talk to my surgeon about it next week. I'm 2 weeks post op. Anyone else get relief? I have a feeling it has something to do with the stricture in my esophagus being weak after surgery. I had a hiatal hernia repair so it could be from that.
