  1. I only bought the strawberry Isopure because it was 50$ and I want to make sure I use it before I start stocking up on half-used powders. I chose strawberry over cookies and cream because the GNC employee said that it was gross and that vanilla wasn't good with water. I wanted something I could use with milk or water. I have had 2 scoops so far. The first time I drank it, I used one scoop with about 10oz of water, and had to stir a lot to get it dissolved. The second time I used it was with a low carb chocolate shake, a scoop of Isopure, a half cup of frozen cherries, a banana and some ice cubes. It kept me full for a long time and filled 2 disposable cups. I'm saving the fruit flavored Isopure for after I'm banded because it's sooooooooooooooooo expensive... $5/bottle
  2. Awesome! I got worried because I spend 100 bucks on all kinds of protein drinks, brought them home and opened them, storing them in the pantry, then realized that some diets are clear fluids only... I thought oooooh $hit!!!!!!!! I hope I will have the same diet you had... my BMI is 49 right now and i need it below 48 before surgery (to pay 500 less). You're a doll!
  3. WOW!!!!!! I googled Toilet Tongs... they look like tongs for barbecueing and you use them to clean your butt if you can't reach. I wish I had a bidet!
  4. So is it a full liquid diet or clear fluids? Susan is on vacation until Wednesday I think.
  5. I'm scheduled for my surgery with Dr. A on June 13th and have sent off my 1,000 deposit check. I don't have my materials yet and am curious as to what the 2 week pre-op liquid diet consists of. I have already stocked up on protein powders and drinks, so I really hope that's part of the plan. So, if you had surgery with Dr. Alvarez, what did you eat/drink pre-op
  6. I can see a small difference with the arms up, but when they're down, they look perfect. Just get some horizontal barbell piercings and they'll be even more exciting to show off. As to this thread being inappropriate, I totally disagree. It's brave for you to show what many of us are wanting to see... the results of weight loss and our potential. You look smokin' hot!!!
  7. I will just be over the border and only for 3-4 days, 3 of those post-op, so I don't plan on sight seeing much. I've lived on the border before and the amusement is gone for me. I need to take something for gas right?
  8. So I'm getting banded in Mexico in a little over 2 weeks. I am taking my birth certificate, Texas DL, digital camera, body pillow, a couple of trashy romance novels and my protein powders. What else should I take with me for before/ after surgery?:confused2:
  9. We'll be banded on the same day.... I wish June 13th would just be here already!!!! I eat, sleep, and breathe lap-band ever since I decided to go through with the surgery and especially when I rounded up the money to pay for it.
  10. I've gotten a body pillow (I'm a stomach sleeper) and have stocked up on Isopure from GNC. I also went to a half-price book store and stocked up on trashy romance novels and other fiction fun.
  11. I'm From Rockwall, about 25 miles east of Dallas. I have been teaching elementary school for 4 years and can't wait for school to be out so I can get my band. I'm scheduled with Dr. Alvarez in Piedras Negras, Mexico... orale!
  12. I am 2 1/2 weeks pre-op and trying to get a head start on my 2 wk liquid diet. I spent 100 bucks on a variety of Protein Drinks, including a huge jug of GNC's Isopure powder.... strawberry flavored. It mixed up pretty well, dissolving and turning into the lovliest shade of public restroom handsoap-pink. I mixed one scoop (about 20g of protein) with 9 ounces of Water and stirred. The first sip made me gag, so I thought of a way to get myself to drink it. I imagined that I had just met my Mother In Law (will meet her in 3 weeks) and that she had made me a popular beverage from her country. I imagined the disappointment/anger she would feel if I were to gag and/or spit it out as I really wanted to... That worked for me. I alternated between imagining my MIL and holding my nose and taking huge gulps until it was allllll gone. Not really as bad as I expected for a GNC powder though. Also felt like a buffalo shopping at GNC.
  13. OMG ) that's too funny! I'm sure some kinky folks out there have gotten dirty in the hospital anyway.
  14. ROTFLMAO!!!!! That's EXACTLY what I was thinking!:blushing:
  15. Add me there with Elvis for lucky Friday the 13th!!! Crystal (cramadan):blushing:
  16. My cats' breath smells like cat food.
  17. I'll be on a liquid diet for 4 weeks, 2 weeks pre-op and 2 weeks post-op. I will definitely miss the sensation of chewing food and I'm wondering if chewing gum would help? Does it cause gas?:blushing:
  18. I am currently 5'6", 306, a size 22/24. I have my surgery with Dr. Guillermo Alvarez in Piedras Negras MX scheduled for June 13... Haha!! Friday the 13th. My age and clothing size have corresponded since I was 12 and a size 12.... size 16 when I was 16... When I turned 26 last year I started Weight Watchers and lost 31 pounds just to turn around and gain 25 of that back. I can celebrate the fact that I'm 27 years old in a size 24, but I want to be a size 12/14 by my 10 year high school reunion.
  19. I am scheduled for my surgery on Friday the 13th with Dr. Guillermo Alvarez in Piedras Negras, MX. :blushing: Good thing I'm not superstitious!!! If you've had surgery with him, send me a message and tell me about your experience!!
