    Seeking support - hurt feelings

:cursing:I am so sorry, I would kick that dude to the curb so fast. You don't need his opinion on your shoulders while you are trying to get lined out with the lap band. I have lost quite a few friends- I thought they were friends anyway. They are happy as long as your their size, but lose a few pounds-from a size 24 to a 11/12 and they start bad mouthing you.:blushing: Just find NEW Friends that do appreciate what you have gone thru to better yourself and your HEALTH. Just like that boyfriend. As long as he was your size it was all good, RIGHT?. :angry:Get rid of him- find you a SWEETIE:tt1: that will be by your side thru this whole wonderful Lap band Journey. Show that a*# what he could have had "IF" he would have been a better more loving boyfriend. This gives you more of an insintive to stay with the program and show "old" boyfriend--nannie nannie booboo--look what you could of had-FOOL!! KICK HIM TO THE CURB!!! ENJOY LIFE!! IT'S A GREAT PLACE TO BE-- "it definately beats the alternative." God Bless

    Slow Losers - Unite!

They have a hard time getting to my port too, Speed Racer. I am short waisted. So the port tries to hide up under my ribs I believe. The Dr. usually does it by himself. The last fill I had was on June 11th. He put 1.2cc in. I still have good restriction. I had my surgery 1 year ago today. I LOVE IT!! I went to buy me some new Jeans for the trailride this weekend because all I had are falling off of me. I was so shocked, I tried on a 13, and they were to big, so I am in a 11/12. Yipppppeeee!!! I couldn't believe it. So I even bought me a new pair of boots!! Just to celebrate. I washed and dryed the jeans when I got home, and when I went to hang them up I just couldn't believe that those small jeans would go over these legs and butt! I am so excited!! I just keep losing more inches than lbs. That's fine with me. Like my Dr.s nurse said, " If she could wear a size 10 and weighed 300lbs, she wouldn't care what the scales said. Thanks everyone for listening to me, I really don't have anyone to share the good news with around here. My Family really didn't like the idea of the surgery, and when I can't eat like they do, they think I'm going to be sick. So I really don't say much to them.
  3. So gald to hear you feel better Jane. I know all about over-fills. I had one a few months ago. The day my Dr. did the over fill he left on a 3 week vacation. I was new at this fill thing, and was scared to death. I thought I would dehydrate and die of starvation before he returned. I really thought I would have lost quite a few pounds during this 3 week stretch. I lost 3 lbs. Yes, only 3. That really SUCKED. All the starving and scarey 3 weeks for 3 pounds. I keep having problems with either something getting hung in my band and making me have a really bad restriction or there is a problem with the band, like a weak place in the band, blocking anything from going down. Like a little buldge in it at some point. I am going back to the Dr. this week and asking for an Xray before he pulls out the saline to flush it thru, if there is something hung up we can see it. Then I will know for sure if it's either me doing something wrong or there is a problem with the band. Has anyone else gone thru this before with their band? Don't get me wrong, I love this band and I would have the surgery done again in a minute. I just wish I knew more about really what to do and how I am suppose to feel. I was banded Oct.24,06 224lb at band now 180 slow going, BUT GREAT!! Saltlick

    Slow Losers - Unite!

Heck Yes, I thought I was the slowest loser ever!! Since last Oct.24, I have only lost 44 lbs. But only had around 80 or so to lose. I have dropped from a size 22 to a 14. More inches than pounds. I am happy with that. But I just thought the weight would come off faster. I would have the surgery again in a heartbeat. I Started out at 224 and now 180. 5'4" Medium frame, but pretty muscular, as the Dr. says. I am a Heavy Equipment Operator, so pretty solid built. I walk 1 to 2 miles 5 times a week on my treadmill. I try to make the 20 minute mile for the 1st mile. I am so glad I'm not alone at this so process. I Would really like to be a member!!! Saltlick

    Back in the saddle...

I have 2 horses too!! I had to wait about 8 weeks to ride. I tried at 1 month but was still to sore. At 2 months it was kind of hard getting settled in the saddle so my port didn't bother me. It took a little time to get adjusted, but well worth it. The port gets sore sometimes, but I just grit my teeth and go on. I ride about 5 days out of the week. I ride my 1/2 quarter, 1/2 paint to my walking track which is about 2 miles from my pasture. I walk my 3 miles, get back on Moose, and ride home. I also have a APQHA that I ride. He doesn't like traffic at all. So I mostly ride him on trailrides. We have alot of trailrides here in East Texas. RIDE ON BANDERS!!! RIDE ON !!!
  6. I have been banded since Oct. 2006. I have had gas problems ever since, some days worse than others. I have eaten different foods to see if that was the problem. I guess that wasn't it, because I'm still having the gas. It's really just an uncomfortable feeling nothing really painful. Yes and sometimes embarrassing.:cry My Dr. says this stays with some people forever. I'm not complaining, I'd have this surgery again in a heartbeat! I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem? I love this Lapband, I have lost 40 lbs, and I have gone from a size 22 to a size 14. The inches are really falling off. I have never lost inches like this before. It's GREAT!!! I have about 60 lbs. to go!!! I know this is a slow but healthy way to lose, and I love it. You learn something new almost everyday. :clap2: Band On!!!:clap2:
  7. Thank you Thank you, That is the best way anyone has explained it to me. That makes so much since!!! Thanks again! I am going to try the shot glass thing to, that someone else mentioned. Thanks Everyone!!
  8. :help: Is anyone having any problems NOT drinking fluids before, during and after meals? My Dr. says NO fluids 1 hour before, No during and None for 1 hour after meals. That is killing me. I have slowed way down, but just can't stop it completely. Anyone else having this problem? I'm also having problems NOT getting the FULL Feeling. Could the drink be my problem?:help: HELP!!
  9. I have been doing the same thing. Except I have felt restriction. I had my surgery Oct. 24,06, and I am losing really slow compared to some other people in our support group. I lost 12 before surgery, and now only 25 after. I am dropping inches pretty good, but not the weight. I wasn't exercising like most people say to do, but I had knee surgery last summer and not suppose to walk that much. I also have to drink a little at meals, due to choking problems. I just don't understand how some people can lose so much and we don't. Of course, I was only right at the 100 lb. limit. In fact the day of surgery I was 6 lbs under the 100 lb. limit. I was told by my Doctor since I was NOT so obese as most people having this procedure done, that mine weigh would come off slower. But no one told me that before the surgery. Don't get me wrong, I would have this surgery done again in a heartbeat, I am just ticked off that my weigh is not coming off as fast as I would want it to. I have started walking now on a new padded treadmill that isn't so hard on my knee. I have lost 4 pounds in about 8 days. I haven't had a fill since March 11. But I think I'm going in next week or so. I think I'm about ready for one. My Doctor just wants you to come in when you feel like you need a fill. He said some people don't need one as often as others. Hope you have a GREAT time on your cruise. Lucky!~! I hope to get to take one next summer. Saltlick
  10. You Look WONDERFUL!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!! I have about 60 more lbs to go, it sure is coming off slow, But it is coming off!!
  11. Anyone else used Dr. Meyers, he is wonderful and his staff also. I was banded on 10-24-06, lost 56 so far with another 50 or so to go.

    Anesthesia

Is anyone else having problems with the idea of NOT suppose to drink anything 1 hour before meals and 1 hour after meals? It is VERY hard for me!

    Anesthesia

I had no problem what so ever, One of the Lucky ones I guess. They woke me up, within 1 hour I went to the bathroom by myself. Was a little unsure on my feet, but after a couple of hours went home. We live 1 hour from Hosp. No problems going home. Slept for a couple of hours that pm. cooked supper that night, walked all over the neighborhood the next day. Very slowly, but we walked. I was banded on Oct.24, in Lufkin Tx. by Dr. Darry Meyer. The weight comes off slowly, but I guess that's better for us in the long run. I have lost more inches than anything. From a size 20 to a 13-14. Only about 52 lbs ALL together. I lost 15 on the liquid part. I'm having problems feeling full. I'm just NOT getting there. Has anyone else been told NOT to drink anything 1 hour before meals and 1 hour or so after meals?? I'm really having problems with that!!
  14. I had the Lap band back in Oct.06. Losing slow, but that's ok!! 52 so far. Peanuts are really high in fat, so that hurts you, and they are hard to digest. Sometimes they are really hard to pass thru the little hole you now have for a passage. I cannot eat the oranges or grapes. They get stopped up around the band so it feels like you are choking. You really can't chew the fruit up enough to get it down thru your band. Very uncomfortable feelings. There are quite a few things other people in my support group say they can't eat but I can, and vise versa. Hope this helps.:clap2: Saltlick
