  1. I had the sleeve March 2014 & was good for a couple years, but in 2016 was hospitalized with severe inflammation in my stomach, a large hiatal hernia and GERD. I previously had no history of this prior to surgery. I was prescribed 80mg of omerzapole, carafate and zofran. Been suffering with horrible reflux ever since. In February my pcp added 300mg of zantac. Still no relief and the Bariatric surgeon is now recommending revision to the bypass. Has anyone experienced this? Did the insurance approve the revision for medical reasons? I have BCBS Massachusetts. Thanks in advance

    Are you Sleeve to RNY?

I would appreciate joining this group. I was sleeved March 2014 and getting a revision to RNY on November 11th . I would love to hear others experiences. I’m curious if recovery is the same, if the Reflux goes away and if there is weight loss. Also wondering if they adjust the sleeve size in the process.
  3. Thanks for sharing. I will check it out
  4. Just got my insurance approval this week for the revision from sleeve to bypass for GERD. Super nervous on how this will go. Although I know what the recovery is like with the sleeve and the post-op diet etc., I’m just not sure that knowing all that I will have to go through again is helpful in calming my anxiety about the surgery. When I originally did this in 2014 my circumstances were different. I was single, living in California and my family was nearby. Now I live in Boston, I’m engaged and my family is 3k miles away. I’m nervous about the recovery and being sick & in so much pain in front of my fiancé. I’m just hoping that going through this again will get rid of the severe GERD. Anyone else experience anxiety about revision or have any suggestions? Thanks
