  5. As the title says it was approved. Now I just have to see the surgeon at the bariatric center I will be going to. I just have to jump through the hoops to get approval for the surgery. I just hope they use my starting weight for the approval. I'm teetering at a 41 BMI so if I have to lose too much I might not qualify. Anyone have any experience with that? 9. Thanks for the response. I so wish that mine was a little more supportive. I think I'm going to continue with this one because she did push the referral through for me as well as take down important info for it. I'm just hoping I hear good news soon. 11. I am 29 with a BMI of 41 and have been considering WLS for a while. I have OHP (Oregon health plan) so I needed to get a referall to see a bariatric surgeon. I just had an annual check up with my PCP and mentioned WLS. She didn't seem super enthusiastic about the idea and after mentioning I'd like a referral twice finally took the info to do so. I mean I do meet the requirements for approval with a BMI over 40. I'm just hoping my referral gets approved soon. I hate waiting but at least I've got things started now. Lol anyone with experience dealing with OHP? Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

  13. Yes i am meeting with my GP and yes I need a referral from her in order to go see the bariatric surgeon. I'm not sure why I'm so nervous. I'm still in that state of mind that maybe I'm just not qualified even though all the numbers say I am. [emoji28] Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. Thanks so much for responding. I'm just nervous that my doctor will say no or somehow try to talk me out of it. I don't really know her view point on WLS but it still worries me. Any advice for talking to the doctor? Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

  16. Hello. I've recently just started looking into possibly getting approved for surgery after many failed attempts at numerous diets and such. Is anyone on here from Bend, OR and can give me any info on the bariatric program with Dr. Archer? Also I do have OHP (Oregon Health Plan) and was curious if anyone had any experience with them as far as getting approved. I have a BMI of 42 and hypertension, pre-diabetic, and just tired of my body not cooperating. Any insight is appreciated. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
