    MAY 2020 Sleevers

Mine was done on May 18 and I am down a little less than 40. I too thought it would come off faster and I am worried about the window of time I have before my body starts to normalize before I reach my goal. I guess I’m terrified of not reaching it . I started at 305 at my first appointment and now down to 235 I think I was about 274 the day of surgery.

    Hungry right after sleeve

Thank you for posting these, I have been soooo hungry and I’m only 3 weeks out, I am so scared to rupture my pouch! I started walking and tracking my food intake so today I am doing better but I haven’t moved the scale at all this week it is a real battle. I was really looking forward to being done with cravings.

    Edibles

I started using edibles about 9 months ago to replace the alcohol “vice.” I have a fatty liver and although have never been a heavy drinker, it gave me the incentive to just stay away from alcohol altogether, and gave me an “excuse” to not drink even socially. I found that the high from marijuana was much preferred over the intoxication from drinking, you can be totally chill but still have control over your actions. The problem with marijuana is I get the munchies really bad and have no control in that area. I am afraid to do edibles or vape post op for fear that I would not overeat again. I’m only 9 days out so my new habits need to be more solidified before getting high again ... thoughts?

    Gas Pain!!!

Thanks that helps. I am 9 days out and gas and bloating have been the worst! What about general abdominal swelling and tenderness not just at the surgical sites but all over?

    Sharp pinching pain (left side)

Medical clinics are going a long way to make sure patients are completely separated and they are cleaning everything really well. Also using a skeleton crew so I think if you take proper precautions you should be able to see your doc. Covid is one thing but twisted insides or an infection would be much worse
  6. I would talk to my pcp and let them know your surgeon does not prescribe opiates. Maybe your family practitioner would write a scrip for you, I mean it is abdominal surgery after all. It doesn’t seem like it but there can be pain if your surgeon has to do any maneuvering around your other organs. Narcotics may not be the answer but you have the right to pain control and should insist on a better plan than Tylenol. I’m a nurse and I know Tylenol does not work well for pain in most people. So thankful my doc wrote for oxy. The Zofran anti nausea is helpful for sleep so maybe you could get by with something non narcotic and just sleep the pain away.
  7. STOP! I can’t EVEN! I can’t think about surgery delay to 2021 I will lose my mind I was 3 days away. Lisa I am so sorry about your situation. It’s really hard to make these arrangements and jump through the hoops and it’s all out of our control. between sick parents and kids out of school and still trying to work at home while being a nurse and schoolteacher is extremely overwhelming. my fear is that I will completely give up and revert back to my old habits not having the pool or gym to go to anymore, and my favorite thing to do is eat when I’m depressed, I don’t feel like going out for a walk or anything. Just stuck again so I feel you I really do
  8. I am self sabotaging because I’m so disappointed. Carbed myself out this weekend but will hopefully get back on track soon
