    Endoscopy concerns

I was sedated too, but they told me before hand it was not going to be 'twilight' sedation, it was the totally knocked out kind of sedation. I guess different doctors have their own preferences. My surgeon also does endoscopies on all her pre-op patients as a routine check. They found a 5cm hiatus hernia which was fixed when I was banded on 28th May. My reflux disappeared like magic!
  2. Hi Fotogirl, I was interested to read your post - I am also 32 & was banded yesterday 28th May (Oz time anyway). I stayed in hospital for 1 night and came home at lunchtime (or what used to be lunchtime!) today.
  3. Hi all, I am being banded on 28th May in Adelaide, Australia. I am really excited that it's only 10 days away! I started the process in September 07 so it's great to know the wait is finally over. I had heaps of questions about banding, such as vegan Meal Replacements and whether flying affects the band, but so far these have all been answered already on this forum! I have gained lots of valuable information from here so I thought I had better join. I will let you know how the banding goes

    Hello from Adelaide

Thanks for the well wishes. It's only 4 days to go now so I am really excited! I'm not on any special diet yet, although I have been having Ensure a couple of times a day to make sure I am as healthy as possible with all those Vitamins :cursing: I feel like I have jumped through so many hoops - I have had multiple pre-op blood tests, x-rays, ultrasound, ECG, endoscopy, etc. I have a 'last minute' lung function test on Tuesday 27/05 as the surgeon is concerned about my asthma. I have passed all the other tests ok, so I'm not expecting any problems. I am looking forward to having the surgery over & done with so they will just leave me alone (apart from the fills of course)!
