  1. Hi all, Count me in I was married for over 20 years and had 3 great children. But always felt that somthing was missing in my life. Then 12 years ago this September I met the love of my life and finally came home. We have both lived and went to school in the area. However, we met each other through her partner at work. We both work in government. I have to say my life is wonderful and she is my rock. We are empty nesters now and very happy although the youngest is home from college right now for the Summer. I had the Lap Band because I was so tired of not being able to do all the things that I enjoy, like traveling and was so tired all the time. I really enjoy this forum.
  2. I agree with you Harvest. I too had Dr. Blumofe and was banded on June 23. I agree she and her team are very committed and dedicated to this procedure. I will see her again on Wednesday for my one week appointment and I look forward to her support groups at Northpointe. Maybe I will see you there.
  3. I was banded 6/23 same here with the diarrhea. I too suspect that once I get some solids in me it will stop. Actually it feels good to have it as I can let out some of this dreadful Gas. I only wish I could figure how to get my left shoulder gas pain out. I made homemade Cream of Potato soup today just for something that normal food. I served some to my partner who has been on my pre-op and post-op diet with me so far (bless her soul) she has lost over 20 pounds. However, she knows it will get harder for her once I get some restriction. We can't wait for the next phase. I dream of tuna fish and cottage cheese. I plan on going to work on Monday, perhaps just for half the day. I can't believe how much energy I'm gaining every day and I have hardly any pain in my arthritic knee. I can acutally bend. I'm looking forward to going to the support group the hospital has to offer and am going to start doing some walking after I have my doctors appointment on Wednesday. I am so gald this forum is available. We are family
  4. Hi Everyone, I was banded June 23 and am now 4 days post-op. I have been doing pretty good but notice that my stomach is gurgling a lot and I feel like a have to burp but can't. I can't inhale because it hurts my stomach and shoulder so bad. I suspect that is gas. I have been taking the gas x and drinking herbal tea. Also I have had some diarrhea Is all this normal.? I have been following my diet and just drinking my Protein drinks, broth, Jello, and the sugar free popsicles and Water. However, I did want something different today and made myself some cream of potato Soup and blended my portion in my magic bullet it was delicious. I was getting worried that I hadn't lost any weight since Monday but today i got on the scale and it was down a few pounds. I am now down 16 pounds from beginning my pre-op. I found the surgery to be a lot worst than I expected perhaps because i'm older and was thinking Wednesday there was no way I could go to work this Monday. But I think I can however, I may just work half days. I am really happy I have done this and wanted to let you guys know that I have gained much information from all of you before I made this journey and I know you will be there for me as I continue. Me and my lap -band Talulah (yes I named my band) Thank you
  5. Hi all, Include me in your prestigous group. I have been on my pre-op diet since Saturday, June 14th and have lost 6 pounds so far. My surgery is on Monday, April 23. I'm doing pretty good I really am a salt person so I'm having some issues with all the sweet stuff. My partner isn't getting the surgery but is also on the liquid diet for moral support. On top of it my 84 year old mother is living with us for a short time while she is recuperating from Hip sugery and my college age son is home for the summer. I'm getting a little scared.
