  1. My grandfather was an old time Methodist, fire and brimstone, Salvation Army preacher....back when they used to literally scare the 'hell' out of ya! And I also dabbled in Christian music many moons ago. I play the autoharp and I also made a tape of 11 songs I wrote, strangely enough they got air time in Scotland, but not here in the US.. I didn't have enough money to get them played. and don't know enough about the music industry to get someone to listen to them. I also tried to set up a website to perhaps download the music from there, but found that I am not smart enough to figure out how...and again, it takes $ which I don't have. Perhaps you could give me some pointers?
  2. There has to be a dr. some where within 40 miles that does this. Today, I called the dr.'s office that advertised that he did it, and they referred me to another dr. down in Westchester County, NY City which is over 120 miles south from where I live....go figure?
  3. Thanks for the encouragement, but I just found out that the only dr. in my area that did lapbands, no longer does this. So, I guess it is back to research for someone who will.
  4. Thanks for the encouragement.
  5. Thanks!.. I am just amazed at the results people on line LBT report. It is such an encouragement.
  6. but 'Hello' back to ya!
  7. One of my big problems is that I am not a fighter. I go for the path of least obstruction. Sounds like I am going to be discouraged before I start!
  8. I guess in my mind I have wanted this for over a year... Never had time or $ and still don't... but I can't seem to lose wt otherwise and feel desperate.
  9. Thanks! and congratulations on a job well done! ..Wow..only 8 lbs to go!
  10. I actually enjoyed it. I would love to work there full-time, but full-time teaching jobs are scarce to come by in my area... you need to know someone who knows someone. That is if you are not math or science... and I am P-K-12 Special Ed, 7-12 English and Elementary P-K-6.
  11. For 2 summers I worked as a substitute teacher in a maximum security prison for males under the age of 18. Many people don't realilze that it is a lot safer and easier to work in a prison than in a public school... (guess I shouldn't let the cat out of the bag).
  12. Hello, I have been considering banding for over a year. I live in the boonies and just found a dr. about 25-30 miles away who does this proceedure... I am determined to call for an appontment tomorrow. about how long does it generally take from first appointment to surgery?
  13. Hello, I am a new teacher.. older in years but semi-recently graduated (5/03). Presently teaching 8-12th grade English at a private school for girls.. who generally have been placed here by the courts with the option of going to prison or to this school. I would love to teach elementary Special Ed. or GED but teaching jobs are almost non existant in central/upstate NY. ... especially for older, fat, 'new' teachers. That's one of the reasons why I need to lose weight.
  14. I am presently 5'6" / 250 lbs. and have been considering banding for over a year now but the only weight loss dr. in my general area does only the full gastric bypass, and will not do banding. He insists on 6 months of psych. counciling along with 'verified' prior weight loss memberships before he will consider anyone for this surgery. I have just found a dr. about 25 miles away who does banding. I have made up my mind to call for an appointment tomorrow. Is this the general routine? (prior counciling, etc.) Approx. how long from initial appointment to surgery? I want it done Now!!
