  1. Wow, I am admiring your stats. Congratulations, 3 years! You are my hero. Any idea why the slip? Is a fast supossed to correct it. Good luck girl, YOU CAN DO THIS...IF I CAN DO THIS YOU CAN DO THIS. Just get into the swing and join us. hugs
  2. lol! Is there a crying and STARVING smilie, laying across the kitchen table DROOLING at the family meals smilie.....:heh:
  3. Now, I KNOW all surgeons are different, but, is there a rule of thumb as to how much docs put in a first fill? What loosens with time that would require a second fill? Weight loss? PS< I have a Vanguard 10 band. Thanks in advance. Kind of not looking forward to my first fill, one week from Monday.
  4. So glad to hear. Yes, the support here is awesome.
  5. RIGHT ON DEZADOO. I have another 9 days of clear liquids. Where is the crying smilie?
  6. Just had to report, I AM SO FULL RIGHT NOW. I ordered the kids some Chinese take out and bought myself a Hot and Sour Soup AND a Won Ton, had a cup of each broth and am full to the gills. I have left overs so that will be nice tomorrow. Melody, thanks for the menu. That really does help me see how your daily meals go. You must have the perfect fill. Do you have any idea what that is? I am looking forward to that stage. Melody, if my calculations are correct you have lost an agerage of 3.5 pounds a week. YOU ARE MY HERO! HOLY, you must have worked so hard for that. hugs
  7. Melody your support means so much to me. I just look at your enthusiasm and your weight loss together and think. Please, God, let me be as successful as Melody. ha! Thanks fro your support. For us looking forward to the solid stage, maybe you could give us an example of your daily food plan. please! And JOSETTE, YOU CAN DO THIS. My stomach growls like a bear too. It stops with just a drink of Water or juice. It passes, it really does. Keep up the hard work and come here for comfort. We will hold your hand. today I am going to try for some hot water and lemon water. I think the heat will help settle things. I did try the hot cranberry juice. It was comforting. Dh is not coming home for supper tonight so I am taking the kids out for Chinese or Japanese and I am buying myself a tub of Won Ton or Miso. I LOVE broth that someone else makes. ha Cheers everyone.
  8. Awesome! Good for you girl, you must have worked hard.
  9. I am absolutely prepared to go to a standstill as soon as I start eating. So ya, we will need to get our bodies moving. That is what is nice about this liquid stage, if there is ANY good stage. The fact that the weight is just falling off. Anway, congrats on your first 25 and keep up the good work.
  10. Oh Booda, you sound like you are having a time of it. Just try to remember this is just temporary. I hope the headache goes away soon. Take some Tylenol or whatever helps. You body is adjusting to a lot all at once. Marie, you sound like you are doing so well. I am so proud of you. It isn't easy is it? This marks DAY 21 !!!! for me. I am hardly believing that time has gone by so quickly and I am still on my liquid fast. I was so hungry last night. I ALMOST ATE something, but was too scared to do so. So as this is my weigh in day, I can report a 25 pound loss in 21 days. I know I won't lose this quickly when I step up to solid food, but what a great start. So some very hungry moments during the day. The broth or cranberry juice will stop it. And in the morning I feel like I deserve an award for getting through one more day. How are all the rest of you doing?
  11. Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo yeaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!! Day 21 of liquid diet. VERY hungry at times, but just work hard toward bedtime. I have lost 25 pounds in that 3 weeks. Only 9 more days of this fast then I can eat real food. Must report that I have had very little pain, and my clothes are lose and I feel absolutely wonderful. Looking forward to food however and nervous about my first fill.
  12. and.........btw, that is not a true size. lol! they are like tiny cans of cat food. My kids love them and that is what I call them. "Anyone want some cat food?" How is the day going my dear?
  13. Oh those suggestions are making my mouth Water. AND, have any of you tried those tiny cans of salmon salad. Already mixed up, and tiny portions. I can just hardly wait for one of those. Drool!
  14. I am soooooooooooooo going to warm my Cranberry juice, thanks for that suggestion. And yes, I will have some Soup minus the noodles. The kids love the noodles, so they can help me with that. ha! Thanks for the last comment. I must continue. Melody, the day I can say I hvae lost what you have lost, I am gonna CRY. Congratulations and thanks so much for your support.
  15. THAT is so awesome! I still want to see a sticky for people who have reached goal. You deserve your own sticky..... I am inspired by your success...... Congratulations!
  16. That said on the hungry thread. I AM STARVING!!!!!!!!! I don't know how I got through last night. I was so hungry and my broth was making me feel sick. ew....I had some sf Jello and lots and lots of Water, and somehow made it through to bedtime. As I have said before, I love bedtime. That is when I KNOW I made it through another day and yes, did survive and not die of starvation. ha! This morning I felt great, weighted myself and had my coffee. NOW I AM STARVING AGAIN. ha! Honestly, I dont' know how I am doing it another 10 days. But that said, I am both extatic and fearful of eating food again as I am liking this drop daily on the scale. BUT I know I need more energy so that I can exercise. Anyway, just checking in on my 20th day of clear fasting. If anyone has any brilliant ideas on what else is clear, I'd love to hear it. So far I have been subsisting on clear homemade broth, water and the odd Splenda drink and one Cranberry juice a day. yawn. Cheers to all the rest of your fasters. How is it going with you?
  17. I don't know what advice to give as I am only 3 weeks out tomorrow. I guess the drinking too soon after eating hit me on the head for future reference, as it flushes the solid food out of your tiny pouch. I am still on my liquid fast and yes, I am hungry a LOT. I try to distract myself with activity, housework, reading a new book, getting out of the kitchen and/or out of the house. It is hard, but try to imagine that that hallow feeling is your body losing weight. I once heard that, don't remember where, but this is not a painless process is it? Anyway, we are here for ya. And we understand. hugs
  18. So awesome Liberty, you are an inspiration. Sorry about your stressful year, that must have been hard on you. continued success.
  19. Checking in. I am a July 21 bandster. I am still on my clear liquid fast. Weight is dropping off. I am finding it hard to celebrate my loss as I can't even believe I got that heavy in the first place. But I am very pleased that it IS actually coming off. Day 18 on my fast. Every day is a new challenge. Some days I am fine, some days I find it very difficult. Yesterday was pretty easy. Had some real grumbly moments. My broth or one cranberry juice a day helps quieten that down. Not ready to run a marathon or anything, but am able to do my daily housework and cooking chores with no pain or trouble. Will start my short walks soon. Hope all my July buddies are doing well...
  20. Day 18 here for me. I actually can't believe it has been 18 days. That means in 2 days, I can start the count down from 10. DH picked up some Miso Soup for me last night. It was so nice to have something different. Yesterday was relatively easy, compared to other days I have experienced. So onward I go. Marie, I have been weighing myself every morning and have slipped into some bad old habits of weighing myself during the day. I haven't done this for years. I guess it follows my almost disbelief that I am dropping weight finally. I haven't seen a drop of more than 5 pounds in YEARS. So hovering just above 255, I am hoping to drop 5 pounds this week. I don't think I can ask for any more weeks of a 10 pound drop. I am finding it hard to Celebrate my loss because I can't believe I got so heavy in the first place. But I am sure glad of my decision. Josette, I made taco meat for the family yesterday and I was licking the spoon, :nervous just to get a taste. I drink Water and broth all day and if I get physically hungry, a Cranberry juice helps, 100% no sugar added. I have also started on sf Jello. Marie, you can buy sf jello in single servings somewhere.... might be nice to have at work. I think I found them at Walmart, or Superstore. Can't remember now, but I am going to look today. Cheers to all surviving along with us on our liquid fast. Paula
  21. Now that made me laugh. My dh took a bit to come round. When he suggested that I eat a bit less and exercise a bit more, I told him that he had a NOVEL idea and that he ought to write a book. Surely, he'd be a billionaire from such unique advice. Sorry honey, but some of us are just made differently and if a bit of exercise and eating a bit less would have done it, I'd have been skinny years ago. I had to say, I am not dumb, I am not lazy and I do not have a flaw in my character. We are just all made differently and unfortunately, I gain easily and hold onto weight for life. True too that my dh is thinnish and my 3 young kids are all of healthy weight and I make sure our food is fresh and healthy and that we all get a lot of exercise. Sigh, sucks but this is my struggle. hugs all
  22. That is why I posted this thread Josette. We need help getting through this very tough stage. But I have to say it has been worth it and it WILL be worth it. I just imagine that my stomach was in such shock after the band placement that it wouldn't mind a rest from digesting. Stomach muscles churn and squeeze and churn while digesting food. This movement can jeoprodize the healing process. So that is why my surgeon insists on a clear liquid fast. And that is exactly why I am determined to complete my fast. Please hang in there with me. We can suffer this together. You will have some hard days and you will have some easier days. But I think to give our stomach a real good chance of healing we must follow our surgeon's advice. My banded friend reminded me of our sacrifices when we got pregnant. We watched what we ate and drank for 9 months to give our growing babies the best chance possible. That is how I am looking at this. And this is such a shorter amount of time. We will be eating food for the rest of our lives, we just need to work hard for these short number of days. I am on day 18 now. 20 pounds plus gone. I have some real hard times, but when I go to bed having had a successful day, I rest easy. I also look forward each morning to stepping on the scale and seeing progress. Good luck and you can come here and complain, and cry or yell out your success. We are here for you maaaaaaaaaaaan!
  23. Well, your weight loss is awesome. You must be adhering very well to your food plan. Congrautations on being 1/2 way there. I think that is photoworthy. Awesome accomplishment!!! My dear banded for 2 years now friend, took a before photo of me. I will post them on the main board when I am 1/2 way there, then again at goal. Great idea!
  24. LOOK AT YOUR STATS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Girl, you must be looking so great! Are your pictures on the main board? You mean my growlies will get better? I though they might just get worst as I am imagining my stomach waking up finally saying, 'Hey, wait a minute here happened?' ha! Thanks for the support Melody! I look at your stats and can only hope.
  25. Yes, well I don't blame you my dear. Your weight loss is awesome. Your choices are well thought out and good for you. I had a second (gynecological) surgery so I am recouping from that and that makes me stay pretty inactive, so I am happy to go on with my clear liquid fast. If I had to go back to work, I'd probably have done the same as you. Yes, I know what you mean about the 24 hour grumblies. If that happens I will drink more broth, but damn it is boring. But what a weight loss. The most I have added is milk to my coffee. Puleese. If I can't have a bit of milk. Keep up the good work my dear. I am so happy with my results, I can' t tell you. You must be too. Oh and don't forget sugar free Jello. That kind of makes me feel as though I have had something.... Oh ya, and have a great first day back at work. What kind of work do you do? Hope it isn't too physical.
