  1. Awesome, thanks. I will have a red shirt and jeans on and I'll be with my sister. See you then:):biggrin2:
  2. Wow! That would be awesome! I am going to have to stay in NH for insurance purposes, hopefully it won't be the six months that I keep hearing about...
  3. Hi all, What is the quickest you have heard someone starting the process and getting to surgery? I'm going to wait until tomorrow night to really make the decision, but with all the research and reading, I am leaning toward having the surgery. My issue is that I would like to move it along quickly...what is your experience? Thanks!
  4. Congrats! I'm going to info night tomorrow and I'm just about jumping out of my skin with questions for the Dr. about how they work through the process, so I can only imagine the excitement:) Good for you!
  5. Great comments. I'm glad I found this forum. It's not as easy as diet and exercise. There are a whole lot of other influences that are even harder than the diet and exercise that people here understand. Thanks for the feedback and you can bet I will listen to all of the imput and focus on making a good decision for me and my health.
  6. That would be great. Is it okay to look for you tomorrow?
  7. Hi everyone! I am going for the informational night tomorrow with my sister. I'm looking forward to learning a lot about the process and this site has been very helpful! Thanks!
  8. Hi! I am in Milton NH. I am going for my informational night with my sister tomorrow. I can't wait, although I am a little nervous. Just looking to pick your brain with your experience and see if you have any pointers for me...
  9. Hey Wendy, I'm from Milton and I am going with my sister to Portsmouth for the informational night. They list Dr. Gens as one of the drs at the office. Have you been banded yet? Do you have any advise/feedback about the process? THanks!
  10. That's exactly what I'm looking for. The sad thing is that I have had her as my Dr for over 10 years now, you would think she would want to support me with this, but it's not about her.
  11. I'm excited to go to the info night and get the facts and then go to her and see what she says. She is in an office with several Dr's, so it will be pretty easy to get another Dr. She has always pushed Soy and basically cutting out meat and thinks that will solve it. I just want to feel full, which I don't now...
  12. Thanks! It is so hard to talk to anyone who doesn't have real weight issues. They just assume it is because I sit and eat bon bons all day which is not the truth, but this forum is great to talk to people who know the real deal.
  13. Thanks! Good for you for going back. Maybe our surgeries will be close and we can lose the weight together:smile:
  14. Has anyone had the surgery done in Portsmouth, NH? Just looking for some feedback on Dr. Gens. Thanks!
  15. It's so frustrating with people who haven't really battled with weight where they just say, well stop eating as much and exercise...gee, I never thought of that:angry_smile: I got that impression from the discussion I had with her. I wonder if she will change her tune when I make the actual decision to have it and switch to support mode. I will switch if she still has the attitude. Thanks!
  16. Good luck! Let us know how you make out! I have two boys to and they make it all worth it along with your own good heath:)
  17. My doctor wasn't exactly excited that I am thinking about this. She said that most of her patients that go through this procedure gain their weight back. Is that really true or is she trying to discourage me? She said she will support me either way, but got the impression she is not in favor of it. She lost a lot of weight a few years ago and has kept it off. I am wondering if she thinks I am just lazy like so many people assume about overweight people...What are your thoughts/ experiences?:wink2:
  18. Thanks for the imput everyone:biggrin2: The weight loss issue has been an issue my entire life, but I wear a uniform and unfortunately they do have a say...That being said I am going to do what is right for me and nothing they can say will change it. I'm on a 20 year plan and it's not as easy as quitting, but on the flip side they can't just fire me for it either. I just am the type of person that likes to move forward and in this case it is win-win, I get in better health more quickly and the people at work will be happy too. THanks again for the imput. I am looking forward to Wed night getting the process started with the info night...
  19. Wow! That's quick! I am hoping to get through the process pretty quickly. The pressure at work is getting old and the quicker I get started the quicker I can start feeling better about myself...
  20. I am getting grief at work about losing weight...It's a long story, but my priority is to do what is best for me and I actually started looking into this process before the issues at work came up. I am looking to get banded as soon as I can if it is the best choice for me. Anyone on the site from NH and what is the shortest turnaround time from start to banding that you have heard of? Thanks!
  21. That's awesome! Congrats and thanks for giving us at the beginning of the process the hope that is much needed right now.
  22. Thanks Kathy! I'll keep you posted:) I'm nervous, but just having to put my current weight was enough to get me motivated...
  23. Hi everyone! New member and new to forums. I'm attending my information night this Wednesday. I'm still not positive, but in reading the posts here, I think I'm headed in the right direction. Hope to chat with you all soon:biggrin2: PS: How do I add the ticket factory weight loss guage on my signature???
