As I am getting closer to my surgery date I am having vivid dreams. I am excited about having it and I have made up my mind about this. Has anyone else experienced this?

Last Friday I completed my lab work for the surgery with my primary care doctor. Today I get a call from my primary care doctor saying I had some type of bacteria in my stomach. And some of the results came back positive. Tomorrow afternoon I will go see him to get a prescription to fixed this. Has anyone else had this problem so close to surgery? If so was your post-poned?

Does anyone use crystal light during the pre op diet?

Dr. Halmi said I dont need to do the pre-op diet since I am 100lbs over. But I have been trying to train my mind to eat less. I will be drinking the EAS Advant shakes 2 weeks prior to surgery to wean myself away from solid food.

When day did you start driving after surgery? I asked this question because my mom will be staying with me for a week of the surgery and I will have to taker her to the airport 5 days after my surgery. Is day 4 too early to get behind the wheel?

Unforutnatly, my Dr. told I dont have to do the pre-op diet since I am only 100 lbs over weight. But I would like to still do the pre-op diet to see if I have the determination to lose the weight and to shake a few pounds off. I have read a few post regarding the pe-op diet and none of them list items I can buy from the grocrery store except for the caranation breakfast. Also, has anyone used the EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control shakes from Walmart for the pre-op diet?

I have Cigna PPO. The first time I turned in the application for predetermination for the lap band, I was denied. It took them 30 days just to say NO. Then I appealed it within 2 weeks and 3 weeks later they came back and said Approved. Cigna told me I was denied because they needed records from my primary care physician stating my BMI was at least 40 1 year ago, since I had no co morbidities. Just don't give up and make sure you give them all the info they want and they will approved it.
