  1. Dr. Ren and Fielding in Manhattan (I think they are at NYU?) are renowed. If I lived in NYC or nearby I would certainly use them!
  2. I do not know for sure---I know he accepts patients who were banded by other doctors---so I would think there is a good chance he would.
  3. Try Frederick Brody at George Washington University Hospital in DC---$80 per fill.
  4. Call your doctor, your band may have slipped---doctor will likely want to remove some or all of the saline to see if symptoms ease.
  5. Hi--I'm here! I went for a fill and Brody said that I was doing so well with my weight loss that a fill was not necessary. I indictaed that I felt I was eating too much food at each meal, and that I was hungry about 2 hours after eating---but he asked me to wait another 6 weeks to see how I do. I was banded 12/28 and have lost 46 pounds since banding. I am currently at 1.75cc in a 4.cc band. I am very, very careful with what I eat--mostly fish and vegetables and have stopped eating out. I bring my Breakfast and lunch to work everyday--it definitely feels like dieting, but as long as I'm losing and have the momentum I'm happy. I wish I had slightly more restriction to make it from meal to meal---maybe next time.
  6. Hi everybody! Hope you had a good face-to-face meeting on the 19th--sorry to have missed it! You may recall I was banded by Dr. Brody on 12/28/05--my first fill was 2/7/06. I have no restriction with 1.75cc in my 4cc band. I do try and eat only a bandster size portion (as best I can) and to make the right food choices, but I have been gaining and losing the same 3 pounds for the last 3 weeks. Dr. Brody requries that I wait 6 weeks between fills; I have made my next appointment for the middle of March. What is your experience with the first fill providing restriction---and how frequently does you doctor allow you to return for a subsequent fill? Thanks. Mindi
  7. Sorry I will not be able to attend this meeting---I will be out of town this weekend. Maybe next time!
  8. Thanks for the warm welcome. So far, my banding experience has been positive, eating is going OKl (no restriction yet, just had my first fill!) I lost most in the pre-op liquid and post-op healing stage---nothing in the last 4 weeks before my first fill. I'm on liquids now, adjusting to my fill. Mushies start soon--I'm starving!
  9. I had my surgery with Dr. Brody and really like him---I think you'll be happy with him!
  10. Hi, my name is Mindi, I live in Bethesda, MD and was banded on 12/28. Glad to have found you all here!
