  1. I am about 11 weeks post op and I have lost 36 lbs since surgery day. I have some weeks when I lose 4 lbs and some where I stall and lose nothing. My doctor suggested weighing myself once a week instead of daily to help me see that my progress may be slow, but it is moving me towards my goal. I use an app that tracks of percentage of weight loss, instead of just lbs, which helps me see how far I have come. HW: 274.4 SW: 265 CW: 229 GW: 159
  2. SW: 274.4 Surgery Day: 265 CW: 231.2 GW: 159 Surgery Date: May 23, 2019 I am almost 9 weeks post op, and it was the most challenging times in my life. Never think this is a quick fix! I have lost 43.2 lbs, over 15% of my body weight. I feel so much better, but eating is still a daily struggle to change old habits. I finally notice the inches lost and the energy gained, but still have 72 lbs left to lose. Has anyone lost the excess weight and got to a BMI under 25? It seems so far away.
  3. I am post op gastric sleeve 5 weeks, and I have not lost weight in 5 days, just stayed the same. It is so frustrating because I am hungry all the time but can't get much in my stomach. Anyone else have this with the sleeve? I have lost a total of 20 lbs, then nothing for almost a week now.
  4. I have the same problem. My SW on surgery day was 265 and I have lost 7.8 lbs in 2 weeks. I have to keep reminding myself that this will pass and I might lose slow than someone with a higher BMI (mine is 40.3).
  5. I am now 16 days post OP and feeling much better. My weight loss has not been as much as I hoped, but my surgeon says I am on track for a person of my height and starting weight. (7.8lbs down since surgery!) I deal with depression every day, so I am learning to not be as hard on myself. I feel limited by what I can eat, but am trying to replace food thoughts with planning new activities with friends and family to keep me busy.
  6. I am 5 days post OP and starting to regret my decision to have VSG. Does anyone else feel like this? I thought I was prepared but mentally and physically it is really hard.
  7. I had my surgery May 23 and had similar pain to deena1516 the next day post OP. My gas pains were terrible but I walked and walked and stayed active. The pain meds help but are not everything. I am day 3 post OP now and getting used to the puree diet. I keep getting gas bubbles from eating or drinking too fast. I have no regrets yet, I am down 9 lbs since my liver shrinking diet started on May 11, lost 4 lbs post OP, total of 13lbs lost so far. SW: 274.4 Surgery Day: 265 CW: 261 ( I am 5 7'')
  8. 3 more days for me! I am having VSG on May 23 and the liquid diet is no fun at all. I am hoping my hunger subsides after I wake up from surgery. I am very nervous and excited. I have lost 6 lbs from the liquid diet. My weight today is 267 lbs and I am 5'7''. How much did people lose in the first month????
  9. One day apart, almost twins!
  10. It took me about 3.5 months to get a surgery date, and I will have surgery just shy of 4 months after my initial consultation with my surgeon (January 30 to May 23)
  11. Congrats, I am May 23! Looking forward to seeing what others experienced
  12. I got my date today, FINALLY! I will have my surgery on May 23, 2019 and I am ELATED! Finally, I know for certain. Anyone else May 23 twins??
  13. I am still waiting for my pre OP test results from the barium swallow and EKG. Waiting on a surgery date, almost 2 weeks after the tests were completed. What is taking so long? I am approved by insurance just waiting on surgeons office. How long did it take others?
  14. How long after you were authorized from insurance did you get a surgery date? I know you need pre op testing as well. My insurance should be letting me know next week!
  15. I am terrified right now, even though I am still in the process of being authorized by insurance (submitted by surgeons office today). Does anyone else experience the emotional difficulty of dealing with the idea of giving up certain foods and changing all your eating patterns. I am 30 years old, 5'7'' overweight since age 6 and afraid I won't be helped by this surgery. I know I have over 100 lbs to lose and would be so broken if this did not stick. I have close family members who think I should not do it and I am starting to doubt myself. ( BMI 41 CW 265 GW 160)
