  3. I'm getting one soon!
  4. I'm 2.5 months post op gastric bypass. I'd been going to the gym every single day, sometimes 2-3 times a day. (It's become my new way of dealing with stress and my new social thing to do besides going out to eat with friends) Tuesday I met with a trainer because I was cleared by my Dr. for core workouts but was told to really ease into it. I was completely transparent with the trainer who told me he'd known and worked with other people with my predicament and that I'd be fine. I told him I had a lot of atrophy and was pretty sure I was malnourished and dehydrated often but that I was working hard on it. He had me stand on some scale thing that you hold the handles on and it sends some electro type pulses through you to separate the fluid from bone muscle and fat and stuff so it can read how your weight is distributed throughout. There's something in it that also reads your inflammation level and he said I had the highest he'd ever seen and also called a co-worker over to check it out and said congrats, you're a winner. After getting on the floor with him after the first set he had me do of squats I knew something was wrong. My legs immediately felt like spaghetti and I could barely stabilize myself. I told him it didn't feel right and he just said you're fine you can have 10 seconds and then did it again...so I did because I hate liking like a wimp (stupid pride) and again and again and lunges and ab excersise...i haven't been ale to walk well since. My legs keep going out from under me and I've nearly fallen down a few times just walking and at work (I stand all day and cut hair). It's Saturday morning and I woke up still in that day after kind of pain. I mean, I've worked with a trainer before and I know the pain but it's NEVER come on that quick and it's NEVER lasted this long or intensely. I swear I'm not being dramatic or whiney. I'm a little worried and not sure what to do. Plus I'm upset because it's now keeping me from working out anything besides my upper body which I can't do every day so I go to the gym and just sit somedays so I don't get out of the habit of going. If I'm being honest I'm really pissed at the negligence but I can't do anything about that and want to let it go so how do I make my legs feel better so I can start working out again??? Sorry about the long rant to anyone who actually made it through. (My own solution thus far is to add genepro to everything and try harder to get more fluids in) my friend says he's going to give me something called map pills but I don't know if I cantake those.
  5. I had the gastric bypass on March 14th so I'm 2.5 months out and have lost 75lbs
  6. I had my surgery on March 14th. I'm down 75lbs. I'm pre pregnancy weight and fitting into old clothes which feels awesome!
  7. 2 months post surgery. Got cleared for raw veggies. Thinking of having some cauliflower. I wanted to gauge others experiences first.
  8. 5.5 weeks out from bypass and hit a stall. Is that normal.
  9. I'm 5.5 weeks post surgery (bypass roux-en-y) and I've lost 51lbs so far. I hit a stahl out plateau or whatever you want to call it about a week ago. Tomorrow I'm going to normal everything I eat and drink to see where in at.
  10. I like to skin a tomato and puree it with a little cottage cheese and add salt and pepper....what else...yogurt... the puree was really really hard for me because I didn't have a lot of variety. I squeezed out the inside of cheese ravioli and ate it with a little spaghetti sauce with NO CHUNKS. I found it I sucked on little cubes of reduced fat cheese cheddar especially kind of melts in your mouth.
  11. I'm definitely feeling better the 3rd week. I was really scared at first. I'm struggling to eat and drink but I'm feeling better now!
  12. Do you mind if I ask what your surgery weight was?
  13. Wow! Great job! I was 299hw 286sw and 3 weeks post op I'm 250. My high school weight was 175 and I'd be ok with that but I'm hoping to get into a healthy BMI which for me its 118-140. But you look really great at that weight! I would love to look just like that! I also have a G cup and wonder what that will get down to.
  14. I also struggle with how to reply and what not lol! Good luck!!!
  15. Hello Marissa! Congrats and welcome to the club! I just had my surgery a couple weeks ago. For starters I remember being really excited and the feeling of wanting it to feel real and doing the things within my power to get going lol. The Drs will instruct you on your journey of what to do and all the different people on here have different instructions. Make sure to follow what your Dr has laid out for a plan. I did small things like I bought tiny silverware to practice eating smaller bites and eating slower and measuring out 2TBSP and 1/4 cup of whatever I was eating first so I could get used to the visual of what that looks like because my Drs kept saying that after m my surgery I would only be able to eat about 2TBSP and eventually 1/4-1-2 cup. I also bought some bracelets from Amazon with lbs lost and encouraging words on them to mark my small victories. These we're just a few small things I could do that made me feel likeTHIS IS HAPPENING!!!! PS my surgery went really really well. There are always parts of getting used to your new life that will b be a struggle but you get over those humps. There are lots of nice, encouraging, knowledgeable, and helpful people here and your Drs office are always available too!
  16. So I found a protein drink that I really like and I'm thinning it out with low fat fair life milk and that's making me feel a lot better. I also today found this little squeeze bottle of calorie free flavor that I LOVE. I actually have to make myself slow down lol!!! Feeling better now!
  17. Thank you all. I'm not an emotional eater but when I'm tired I can get emotional. Also I didn't know about the estrogen being stored in the fat. I also have a disorder where I have more testosterone than estrogen so perhaps I'm not used to this aligh amount of estrogen being released lol. I heard you all loud and clear. FOCUS ON HYDRATION. Can you give me the name of a safe and good tasting clear liquid protein shake so I can make the popsicles out of them! And what are the snow cones mentioned above?!?!?
  18. I know I've been on here a few times to discuss my diet. I had surgery March 14th 2019 (bypass) and I can't seem to get things in. I can't drink enough or eat the puree like I'm supposed to. It's Saturday at almost 2am and I'm on the couch sobbing. My stomach has been growling. I almost burst into tears tonight when we were out for my boyfriends birthday dinner with his family but I didn't. I held it together. I can't figure out how to make this all work. I think I'm severely dehydrated and literally starving. I have a few things going on that are complicating things for me and they are both so dumb. One is that I have multiple friends who've had this surgery done that are insisting that I do this or that, that I shouldn't be on purees yet. I have a neighbor I frequently hang out with that has A friend who's had this surgery so she thinks she knows all about it and is trying to tell me what to do and how I should feel. The other thing is that I'm really normally a very tough person. No one is used to seeing me hurt or struggle. I'm not the type to complain. I'm a lead singer in two different bands and I've taken seriously bad falls off the stage and chipped bones once and split my face open on another occasion and just kept rolling with the night so everyone just thinks I feel nothing but this is different. It's not the pain that bothers me and to me the pain wasn't even so bad it's that every time I feel pain or just something different it's scary because it could be an indicator to something being wrong and I get really anxious. I'm so grateful for this forum because honestly it's the one place I can come and not only be vulnerable and honest and know the people here won't just say hey you're right Jezz, you'll be fine. I don't even know what this post is about. It's the mad rantings of a hungry, tired, frustrated person trying to figure it out. I just feel lost and I can't wait until Monday so I can call my Dr and get help. I'm just REALLY afraid to eat and feel like I'm waisting away. Not getting protein. Again I'm so sorry. (Half of me hopes no one reads this, the other half of me is praying that someone completely relates with me because I feel crazy)
  19. I don't have a plan that says puree then soft foods. I'm really confused about what I can eat I guess at this stage. I'll mix the mayo with yogurt from now on if I use it.
  20. Puree. I'm supposed to puree foods to applesauce consistency. If been eating yogurt ok but can only eat about two Tbsp. What exactly is custard? It sounds good lol. How so I make that? I think I'm supposed to focus on protein though.
  21. I made a hard boiled egg and used 2tsp of low fat mayo and then thinned it with pickle juice until it was applesauce consistency. My written out diet said to eat a quarter to a half a cup. I served myself a quarter. I ate about 3Tbsp of it. I ate it at 12:30... I was in SO MUCH PAIN I felt like it needed to come out one way or anther until 9:30 pm. I felt nauseas the whole time but never threw up. I was alone and afraid of what throwing up my do to my incisions. (I had surgery on March 14th I'm 12 days post op) I couldn't eat or drink or get out of my bed (because I also ended up getting extremely cold) today I'm afraid to eat or drink. I did force 1Tbsp of yogurt in and I'm trying to drink too but not doing well. I never want to eat again. I feel so anxious. Anyone else expierience this and have any idea where I went wrong??? Maybe I ate too much? Maybe low get mayo is not ok? Maybe I used too much pickle juice?
