  1. I had my surgery 3 weeks ago. I immediately started to lose weight and lost about 20lb in the first two weeks. For the last week though, I’ve stayed exactly the same or gained weight. I don’t understand why this is happening. I am doing everything I am supposed to be doing and I am getting incredibly down. All of my mental and physical energy is consumed with making sure I am successful with this new lifestyle. Making sure I am drinking enough, eating the right things at the right times. Not lifting things too heavy. My Docotor said not to be concerned because they don’t really start tracking weight loss until after the first 30 days. He said that the body is still healing and adjusting and that I should focus on healthy habits. But it’s beating me down to see no progress on the scale. I keep waiting for it to show a drop and for this streak to end but it doesn’t. Has anyone else gone through this?

I feel really similarly at times. The usual stresses where I’d turn to food seem to just fester because I don’t have that stress relief anymore. I am only 3 weeks post-op and haven’t figured out a way to replace that stress-eating behavior with a better choice.
  3. This blows my mind. I am going bonkers now just starting phase two, soft purées. I miss food with a crunch. Just today I was able to eat tuna fish. It’s been so hard Here is the link to everything my doctor allows and when. He also has some “never agains” like soda, citrus fruits, etc. http://www.sphp.com/workfiles/brochures/bariatric-diet-after-weight-loss-booklet-web.pdf
  4. I am new to this forum, but am keeping my surgery a secret. I had my procedure done on 12/19. I made it through a Christmas Eve dinner without telling my in-laws (who I dislike), just attributing not eating to a stomach bug. It can be done! I think you will know if keeping it a secret is right for you!
