AlmostsleevedQueen reacted to Mychoice19 in Help i need some answersHello I'm three weeks out from being sleeved just like you and yes there are times I feel like my sleeve isn't working, but more so because I don't see fast weight lost results.. my food intake on the other hand is not the same Im actually on full liquids going into puree foods. Which will start Monday. I agree with the other posters please consult your doctor and your dietician. I don't fill full all the time either but I think I'm to afraid to eat more and go off the schedule. Try getting back on your schedule my dietician gave me a guide book for each phase and although sometimes I think I'm ready for the next phase I don't budge because I want to do things right remember you are doing this for you and no one else so stay encourage stick your plan and you got it !! You may want to ask for a drink test too to make sure everything is going where it's supposed to as well.

AlmostsleevedQueen reacted to Emilia DD in Help i need some answersPlease keep us posted on what your doctor makes of this. Are you seeing a nutritionist regularly? If he is not concerned you should have a second opinion consult.

AlmostsleevedQueen reacted to Colchabay in Help i need some answersYes I am in agreement with everyone else. I'm 5 weeks out and last time I had eggs I could only eat half of the egg with nothing else.

AlmostsleevedQueen reacted to Chevron in Help i need some answersHmm this is a lot for three weeks post op. I’m about seven months and can only eat one egg. You need to raise this with your doctor.
I find that although I can only eat a small meal, i can get hungry an hour later. But hunger is normal and I know I don’t have to eat just because I feel hungry. I drink water, or eat a cracker or two (less than 50 cal), or just be hungry. Some people lose all hunger but some, like me, still need to work with it. -
AlmostsleevedQueen reacted to Saxons in Help i need some answersI find this a bit worrying for you. I am 13 months out, 80 lbs down, and no way could I eat more than 1 egg in a meal, let alone 2 plus sausage. I find protein SO filling! Are you getting enough fluid? Thirst can be mistaken as hunger. A good protein shake with all the vitamins would be a better option rather more food.

AlmostsleevedQueen reacted to catwoman7 in Help i need some answersyour nerves were cut during surgery. It might be awhile before you start feeling "full" again. I agree with the other posters - weigh and measure your food and only eat what you're supposed to eat. You don't want to mess anything up.

AlmostsleevedQueen got a reaction from FluffyChix in Help i need some answersThank you so much for your input -
AlmostsleevedQueen reacted to FluffyChix in Help i need some answersYou are right to feel concern!
Are you following your surgeon's and rd's plan? Are you weighing measuring logging all your food? Hard to comment. To me it feels alarming. Since you're about 3 weeks out from surgery. That feels like a lot of food.
But sometimes you're restriction signal takes a while to work itself out with your brain. I've heard of people taking 2-3 months to start feeling their restriction.
Because of this you simply should never "chase that full feeling." Just because you can doesn't mean you should. So when your doc tells you 1/4c of food at 3 weeks post op. He means business. You can seriously eff yourself up that way! So eat ONLY the volume they tell you and of the foods that only they list.
*Edit: Oh and don't forget, to take tiny bites with tiny silverware and chew chew chew. Take 20-30minutes to eat if you can--especially in the early days. And no drinking with meals or after meals! I tried to keep it 15min before and 30min-1hour after.
Focus on your protein first. At this point, that should be about all you're eating. Call your doc's office and schedule with the rd.

AlmostsleevedQueen reacted to MadmanDJ in Calling to Post-Ops;Any Tips to being successful post-op(first weeks, months, year)I used Baritastic App on my phone to track my progress and keep a food log and journal. This is going to be an amazing journey, but it's not going to be easy. But, I am almost six months out and it was the best decision I have ever made. I also got the Gastric Sleeve Bariatric Cookbook by Sarah Kent. It was eventually extremely helpful when I was able to eat more varieties of food. Congratulations and best of luck. You are going to do great!

AlmostsleevedQueen reacted to Decaffer in Calling to Post-Ops;Any Tips to being successful post-op(first weeks, months, year)Good luck tomorrow! Today is my six-month post op anniversary. My biggest tip would be to focus on water first and protein next. After you are recovered (I would say it was month 3 for me) start adding weight training 2-3 times per week. Also, start a new facial regimen now to help reduce extra wrinkles from the weight loss. Finally, don’t invest a lot in smaller clothes until later because you will transition so quickly. I have found myself going to Goodwill to keep basics in current size. Congratulations and best of luck!!

AlmostsleevedQueen reacted to Orchids&Dragons in Calling to Post-Ops;Any Tips to being successful post-op(first weeks, months, year)Congrats on your upcoming surgery. Hope all goes smoothly and you have a quick recovery!
I would recommend trying to not compare yourself to others. It's soooo tempting, but your journey isn't theirs and there's always a load of backstory that you don't know. Our bodies are all so different and comparing doesn't help. You can only work with the one you've got.
I'd also recommend that you take your measurements now. There will be times when you stall (It sucks but happens to most of us). Inches almost always go down when you stall and it helps to keep your spirits up.
Good luck!
