  1. You guys are so good. I hope I can have a talking treadmill some day.
  2. My my my. I'll bet you ROCKED HIS WORLD:wink_smile::sad::wink_smile:
  3. So since I have a new grandbaby, when I lose weight will I be a GILF? YUCK! That's kinda' gross.
  4. kewl! that would be a blast! Our daughter used to be a big time softball player, and it remember that it seemed like a full time job in the summer.
  5. That would be sooooo much fun! I'm coming in July 1st. My pre-op is at 4:30 or so. DH will be with me, but he's an honorary woman. I would LOVE to meet all of you.
  6. Yep, you can just take your hoppy taw and go home!! So no mean notes in lockers or any of that stuff.
  7. Oh, that is so tough. I hope she felt guilty. That was really mean.
  8. cool! I am apparently in need of some oxytocin. If you don't know what the heck I'm talking about, it's that bonding hormone that women release when they're getting support from each other. It calms down your stress reactivity, etc.
  9. I think it's great cuz it makes us feel popular! And then when you go to your CP there are all your friends' avatars! Wow, can you guys tell that I am one lonely professor??? Hee hee.
  10. OMG!!! That's so awful. Oh dear. I can imagine how tough that was. Okay, two shots for brandy.
  11. OOPS! I posted too slow. A shot for dee as well. And I would love if you were my mom or sister (I don't have one of those either).
  12. Doncha' just love summer? Okay, a beer for dee, and a shot for brandy. Anyone else? Wow, I feel like a cocktail waitress!
  13. Well, she's a very unhappy person, so I guess I wasn't totally surprised. While it really bothers me that we haven't spoken in a few years, there is also a bit of a sense of relief. Her criticism was really hurtful, and it's been nice to be away from it. It has helped my self esteem quite a bit.
  14. That might not be a bad idea. At least it would let you say what you need to say.
  15. I think the letter thing is good, too . . . although when I wrote my mom a letter about some of the things that were bothering me (like saying cruel things about my weight, blaming my son's illness on my parenting!, etc), she completely quit speaking to me and told the rest of the family that it was the meanest letter she has ever read and that I hurt her horribly, etc. It can backfire . . . but sometimes I think you just have to take that chance and see what happens.
  16. Sure! Anybody else? It's asking a lot, but I'm willing to drink more one for each of you if that's what you need. Anything for my team!!
  17. mmmm, smirnoff ice. Nummy! Yes, I think a beer is in order. What a fab idea on a hot, hot afternoon.
  18. Oh, yes. My insurance company can kiss my fat (soon to be scrawny) butt. This will save them sooooo much money every year, not to mention the escalating expenses as years go by. A surgeon that I talked to here said that many of them state that, since the average person only stays with one insurance company for three years, they don't ever reap the benefits. What crap.
  19. Mmmmm, a tall, frothy Porter. Yummy. Oh, I should drink one of those soon cuz I won't be able to later!!!
  20. I just can't believe that 45 minutes will change my life! The best 45 minutes ever! And I've had some pretty great 45 minute increments of time in my life. I was just adding up a bunch of medical expenses to submit for reimbursement from my flexible spending account. Wow, if I'm able to get off some of my meds and such, my surgery will pay for itself in just a few years. YAYYY!!!
  21. That's a wonderful story. I would cry too. So if Dr. K is operating on me at 1 and talking to you at 3, he must be planning on my surgery going smoooooothhhhh.
  22. I have a swimsuit that covers me chin to ankle. Seriously. I have red hair and very fair skin plus one of my meds makes me super photosensitive. A few years ago we were going to the Caribbean and I REALLY wanted to go snorkeling. So I ordered these swimpants and shirt from some Australian company that are spf 90 or something. It's black, lycra looking pants but not so tight that they show my assorted craters, and a long sleeved royal blue shirt with a high neck made of the same fabric. I wear a regular suit under it. At first I was worried that I'd look like a total dork, but I was so much more comfortable in it than when I have to prance around in a regular suit that I ended up thoroughly enjoying myself. I decided it looks like a very chic wetsuit. I haven't worn it to the pool though. That might be kind of different.
  23. Love you too. Can't wait to meet you!!
  24. Dee, this is so beautiful . . . and such a reflection of your incredible soul.
