I have the same kind of insurance (also from Ky). I was told by my doctor to call and ask my insurance co. "if they pay for wieght control surgery for Morid Obesity." The lady I talked to even read back that my policy states it will pay for WLS for morid obesity. Maybe it was the way you asked and that is why they told you that you could appeal it. I am not sure what the difference would be but I would keep trying. Good Luck, Debbie

I also use a Cpac machine. It took awhile to get used to it but now I can't sleep without it. It goes on vacation with me. We went camping this weekend and I used it hooked up to a 12 volt battery. You will so much better when you start getting a good nights sleep, so hang in there and keep trying. After awhile you will get used to it. But I HOPE after the surgery and I lose weight I will not have to use it any more. It will proubly take as long to not use it again as it did to use it. LOL

Hi,,I too am just getting started with everything. This is the best site I have found for answering all your questions. I have only posted a few times and have not had to ask the first question. Everything I wanted to know about someone had already asked so the answer was already there. Thanks for the information. I have heard nothing but good things about the doctors, Weiss & Oldam, and the bad things get around fast so I think we have good doctors. The nurse that heads the bariatric group at the hospital I am going to is also very nice. I met her at he seminar but she emailed me and called me with information before I went. I think we will do great!

No,,I am an apartment manager. I have insurance thru my husband, Anthem, Blue cross Blue Shield. I know my insurance will pay, i called and asked them. I just have to wait for all the pre-op stuff and get it approved for sure. I think I have enough prove from my regular doctor that I have tried dieting without success for over 6 months. But I still might have to go on a 6 month diet for Dr. Weiss. Does he ask you to do this,,or is it for insurance. ( I have got to cut my nails it is taking me forever to type after spell checking everything Ha ha) I live in Benton Ky. (west Ky)

Wel I have no words of wisdom, I am still waiting myself. I don't even see the doctor until June 10. BUT Dr. Weiss is also going to do my surgery ( I hope) but I can have it done close to home in Mayfield, Ky., he comes here a couple days a month. :thumbup: So I wish you good luck on yours and will be waiting to hear your words of wisdom! You can let me know if Dr. Weiss is as good as I heard he was. Lots of luck and please keep me posted!

:scared2:OMG you poor thing !! Are you going to have to pay for everything again? Sure does explain why you were not losing weight. What kind did he use? I have not been banded yet and this sounds like the kind of luck I would have. Hope everything goes ok. I'll be watching for your updates.

I can't help you I haven't been banded yet but I did wondeer about this. It looks like gum, hard candy or even a breath mint would realy hurt if you accidently swallowed it. I hope someone can answer your question but I wouldn't wait long if it gets very painful, go to ER to be on safe side Good Luck:sad_smile:

This is the perfect place to find out everything you need to know, and a few things you might not want to know, ha ha. I have been getting online every night for 2 weeks reading everything. Don't beat yourself up ! Forgive yourself for the mistakes and start all over. You did it before you an do it again. You are worth all the work it will take!
