I have had my lapband for a relatively short period of time (4/18/08), but I would love to share my success with other in my area. I have lost 56 pounds so far and have just about 100 to go. A little about me, I am a 35 woman, married (to a deployed soldier), and work from home. Even if you don't need a mentor, I would love to meet other in my area with the Lapband. There aren't too many around me that I know of. Looking forward to hearing from someone!

It's really weird to hear about all of the Tricare Prime denials. I started this process March 4th with my initial consultation and had an approval by Tri-West Prime within couple of days. No psych eval. and I went to a nutritionist on my own accord. I was banded on April 18th. I wonder why there are so many denials, are they giving you any reason at all for the denial?

Just joined the board and thought I would send a quick message on my experience with Tricare. I started the process on Feb. 21st with a referral to a bariatric surgical center from my PCM. Had my consultation appt. at the center on March 4th and was approved by Triwest 6 days later. Tricare really does get those approvals out quickly. I just had my surgery 4/18/08 and lost 17.4 pounds in the first week. I feel really fortunate that I was able to get approved and have surgery so quickly.
