  4. I only told my Dad and 2 girls at work to begin with, I told my sisters the Saturday before my Monday surgery and my son somewhere in between them. Now I tell everyone! I chose to do this for me and so far everyone has been very supportive of me. I am very happy that I haven't had to listen to any snide remarks because at this point in my life I would probably tell them to jump off a bridge! I see so many unhappy people many due to their weight that I want them to know that there are options

  7. Thanks guys.......when I had to crush them the first month following surgery I just didnt take most of my meds. Pudding and crushed pills were nasty. I did not try layering them in applesauce good idea! As I was typing my first post it dawned on me to split my pills and take half in the morning and half at night ( I have 8 prescribed pills and the 4 vitamins) so I have been taking 6 and 6 instead of 4 and 8 and while it has only been 3 days it is working better.
  8. I work night shift and for years I have taken the majority of my meds at 6 pm before I go to work, I also have some that I take in the morning when I get home. I have to eat before taking them or they make my stomach upset but I have been noticing that every night my stomach hurts soon after I take them and I just put it together that when I eat my dinner then take my meds and vitamins that I am putting to much into my stomach.....I cant stand crushing them so thats out. Any suggestions?

I also used the candy during the liquid weeks after surgery. Good luck it''s difficult but You Got This! and just to make you smile at work before surgery one of the girls was eating sesame chicken and I was like please just let me suck the flavoring off...... she wouldnt let me have it...havent decided if she is a real friend or not lol

  19. Thanks everyone for the great suggestions and support. I will have to work on the potatoes! The day I went to see the counselor and he asked what a typical breakfast was for me I had to answer a bag of chips a big bag, not one of those little vending machine bags, and he said you will definitely need to change that ....so I put it on my nope cant eat that cause I dont have a cut off point list and I have not has a potato chip since April ....I dont want to have too many foods on my never list. I actually do like to cook but again its all the unhealthy food I usually cook and the fact that cooking for myself and staying in a motel with a 2 burner stove and no oven make it difficult.....

  24. I have eaten certain ( mostly bad for me!) foods for going on 40 + years, I know that I need to make changes but my head is still being stubborn. I dont like many veggies although I do like green beans, broccoli and salads. I love white potatoes cooked in all ways but cant stand sweet potatoes. The only fish I like are fish sticks. I love steak but am still in that mindset that every meal needs potatoes or pasta. My friend who had a lap band years ago tries to get me to eat healthier foods but I take a bite or two and cant force myself to eat any more ( this was before surgery) So my question is how do I get myself to try and like healthier foods?
