  1. I JUST FOUND OUT THAT MY INSURANCE IS NOT GOING TO PAY FOR BARIATRIC SURGERY FOR AT LEAST 6 TO 12 MONTHS AS THEY RESEARCH THE COMPLICATION RATE. I WOULD LIKE YOUR FEED BACK ON WHICH OPTION I SHOULD DO. 1. kEEP ON THE MEDICAL SUPERVISED WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM THAT I AM ON (I'M CURRENTLY LOSSING A POUND AWEEK) 2. LOOK AT SELF PAY OPTIONS (MAY NOT BE FINICIALLY FEASIBLE AT THIS TIME) 3. WAIT AND SEE IF INSURANCE WILL COVER IT NEXT YEAR (TURN 65 IN 2020 WITH MEDICARE)
  2. I am still pre op so I don't know about when you can have these foods postop but I have a question. When you were pre op didn't the nut or surgeon talk about lifestyle changes that you need to make and to start working on those healthy options pre op? I know there are foods that I love that I will have a make a choose NOT to eat to become healthy and loss the weight I need. Am I wrong?
  3. I am 63 and half way through the Supervised Medical Weight loss management. I have lost almost 20 pounds, focus on changing my attitude of food. I am trying to start this lifestyle change as I hope to get the surgery early 2019. However, my insurance is up in the air about if they are going to cover and bariatric surgery. I plan to keep going and I enjoy reading that others have gone through the gastric sleeve procedure with positive results.
  4. I use Myfitnesspal. what is nice with this app is you can add your own recipes and it will calculate the protein, carb..... I try to put in EVERYTHING that I eat everyday but I do forget. I am not on a diet but on a lifestyle journey to a healthier weight so even though I watch the protein and calories Its a good guide. Also a note, I am on a supervise medical weight loss program that I have to print off every time I see the surgeon.
