  1. I would love feed back on this. Typically with diets that are kind of drastic - you tend to see hair loss - it might be temporary - but have any of you noticed this? Or is there something special we should make sure we have to make sure we have enough nutrients to minimize this? I know in the past when ive dieted, ive seen stands of hair come out..and while that is normal to an extent...i would like to do everything i can to minimize this. Thanks for your insight!
  2. Ooooh love the tag Evie - got it! Thanks so much!
  3. Mainehappymama - very cool! We can compare! July7th here we come! Oh Evie..i kinda like the idea of an "09" but whatever everyone wants is good....
  4. Jason...read all your posts in this thread and that is amazing.! You have done a wonderful job - i can see ya smiling all the way here in california (lol..i didnt even look to see if you are anywhere even near california hahaha). Good job! I'm gonna be banded 7/7 and im hoping to soon be able to post good weight loss news. This has been a year process for me jumping through those hoops to get here...in the interim, reading posts and gathering good karma from eveyone here (you included). Take care and keep it up guy!
  5. Mary...i'm eating alot of EVERYTHING lately..not just sugar....My main issue is actually worrying about getting enough protein and such the 1-4 weeks after the surgery. You know how when you diet strongly you lose hair??? I'm worried about not having enough protein and losing mine..it's already begun thinning a little and i just want to make sure i'm gonna have enough of whatever vitamin i need to keep my hair healthy!
  6. Hmm...good idea. Actually, ive been eating the last year knowing this day was coming, lol...so i guess 4th of July, if it needs to be a fasting weekend, so be it! lol.
  7. There is a voting thread for July "names"...ive cast my vote there already---ya might want to check it out...then maybe all us July babies can all be on the same thread and really help each other through our new lives!!! I can use all the friends/support and help through this as i can get!
  8. There is a voting thread for July names..i've already cast my vote on that site for July Jewels! :cursing:
  9. Yes..there was 3 different threads for July names..this voting in one place is a great way to go!
  10. Im curious about this. My banding date is 7/7. I dont go into the doctors office to get pre op stuff till 7/2. What, i wonder, does pre op consist of? We've already done so much - the chest xrays, upper gi, ekg - more blood work? I had thought great - i'd have one last "blast" on 4th of july weekend---are you guys saying that i'll probably be put on some liquid diet for the 5 days prior to my surgery???? Was it diet of entire liquids??? I'm sooooo wondering about this!
  11. Im a little concerned about this pre-op diet talk! After all those nutrition classes and all the hoops you have to jump through, i thought it was all done! My banding date is 7/7. I dont even go in to do any pre op stuff till 7/2. I figured "cool - i can have a 4th of july last blast before banding"..so should i figure that they're gonna tell me that i have to fast that weekend????? I wonder if any people have gone thorugh banding without a pre-op fast..guess i go post that - since everyone her hasnt been banded yet lol. Im nervous..happy excited - and i think the most i worry about is getting through those first 1-4 weeks...
  12. Im July 7th too Columbus!
  13. ooooh i like the tag! how do i get it ? lol
  14. Wow Mymiserys - that is an awesome loss! How do you feel? Did you find the weight just fell of you quickly??? Amazing that your almost at goal! Will you be happy losing those last few pounds? Or will you revise your goal???
  15. thank you, 2911plans! I would welcome all the help i can get! how are you liking your band? did you find it easy to transition to this new lifestyle in the last couple of weeks? is your "discomfort" over???
  16. Im Bobbie..im 51 in southern california and will be banded after over a year wait, on 7/7. I'm very excited, and nervous and so ready to make this happen - and having a friend/mentor to talk with and work through this new lifestyle would be great! Im a single mom of 2 adopted beautiful girls..and im looking forward to being an active mom! Any and as much help as i can get with this transition and new lifestyle would be wonderful! Thanks!:grouphug:

  18. Hey stevenden, another 7/7 bandster here. I'm so excited..seems like ive been waiting forever..but i'll admit to being a bit nervous too! I'm done with everything but pre op - which is being done on 7/2. I guess i wont have a 2 week pre op diet if i'm not having pre op stuff done until 5 days before surgery....
  19. urgh...cant think...kept coming up with "united" but cant coin another word to go with it....... 'Independence ..something... Seventh Month ....urgh... Dang..im tired...i cant think..i'll try again tomorrow, lol
