The anesthesiologist is a friend of mine and know exactly what y’all are saying. He stopped it for my best interest and I am grateful for him doing that.
Praying all goes well at cardiologist Monday.

Aileen reacted to Jobber in Need Advice on Talking to My Wife about WLS
My first surgeon appointment is in September. I'm getting very anxious.
My wife is a very supportive person, but is also the type that wouldn't even consider something like WLS for herself, let alone a regular Dr. appointment. (Check that, I think she goes every five years or so). Things like this, for her, are more of the "elective" nature despite my own PCP asking me to pursue this. I think I'm afraid that she's going to talk me out of it, but I won't have an inkling of this fact until we both go see the surgeon next month for my appointment. I asked if she would come too, but not for her, GOD NO, the day I tell her that she should consider WLS, I might as well get a shovel and dig my own grave....lol.
I have spent the last several days, hours on end, researching almost anything I can find on WLS and I'm pretty convinced that I want to do this if all the stars align, but I think the most difficult hurdle wont be insurance, nutritionist, psych eval, or the surgeon, it will be how my wife feels about this. The problem is that no matter how much time I've put into researching, she will not hear any of it if her mind is set otherwise. Don't get me wrong, our relationship is great, its just stuff like this we don't tend to agree on.
To give you an idea, she's quite stubborn in her ways, but at the same time, she suffers from the same thing I do when it comes to trying to lose weight; we get started on a diet and/or exercise plan, then next thing you know we're drying sheets on that elliptical a month later instead of using it.. I'm past the point of wishful thinking anymore and I'm ready for something radical to help kick my butt into a better way of living.
Anyone out there have a hard time convincing their SO that this is really worth doing, even after a licensed surgeon said so as well?

    I get migraines too!
My doctor cleared me for ibuprofen at my 1 month appointment and for imitrex 3 DAYS postop (hormone shift postop caused a migraine)
You should be good to go, but always ask your surgeon first.

Use of ibuprofin and similar NSAIDs is dependent upon circumstances and your surgeon's experiences with them and the sleeve - the sleeve is a lot more tolerant of their use than the bypass, which is what most surgeons have the most experience with; docs with more long term sleeve experience tend to be more accepting of their use than those who are relatively new to the sleeve, so check with your surgeon and see what is most workable for your situation.

I have had migraines for over 30 years. I take ibuprofen and Imitrex for them. I am guessing I shouldn't take the ibuprofen after I have my sleeve done. Does anyone have advice? Of course, I will talk to my doctor but I want to know what other migraine sufferers have done.

Yes research shows it works for the sleeve too.

Tried this today. Ate maybe half but it's actually not bad. The crust is a chicken and parmesan combo so it's very low in carbs (4) and high in protein (25). Obviously it doesn't taste like the real thing but close enough!

    It gets better...

Have you discussed your situation with your doctor? If I were feeling sick all the time, I'd be in the phone pronto with the doctor's office. There are many things that can cause nausea and most times it is easy to fix. It could also be an indication that something is wrong and you need to be seen. Please do not wait to contact your doctor...

You've lost 66 lbs since April, that is in no way slow. I'd suggest focusing on the positives, instead of some unrealistic expectation on how fast you would lose. When in your life have you been able to lose 66 lbs in 4 months?

Yes my surgery was 8/6/2018 and I was afraid I was going to die, I woke up the morning of my surgery and really wanted to cancel. I didn't and I'm glad I am 1 week post op and feeling great!! the first day was a little rough but nothing like I expected. I was up and walking 6 hrs post op. I think going in expecting the worst and finding out it really wasn't that bad helped me. P.s. this was my first surgery ever.
