  1. There can be a few extra challenges to weight loss surgery later in life. It would be nice to support each other on the journey.
  2. Hi Tracyringo, I have the same problem. My poor husband sleeps in a hoodie so I can stay cool in bed! In addition to a big fan in our bedroom, I have a small fan on my nightstand pointed at my head! I stay pretty comfortable with that extra little fan running.☺
  3. Hi ladies! Question: I'm 58 years old, post-menapausal, and one year post-op. Have any of you started having hot-flashes again after weight loss? I hadn't had a hot flash for a couple of years, and now after losing 101 pounds, I'm having hot flashes again! Anyone else out there experience that too?
  4. Hi Sharlanay! There are lots of protein fortified foods like gelatin, soup, drink mixes. I get these products at the surgery center but some are available on Amazon. I like Health Wise (soup and gelatin) and Proti-15 drink mixes. After you stomach heals more (about 3 months out) you can get more adventurous!
  5. Hi Lorelli65 - welcome!
  6. My husband gets bored easily so I have learned to be creative! I cook South Beach diet style for ideas on variety. I also supplement with protein, protein shakes and fruit throughout the day to get in enough protein. That helps me allow "space" for veggies and healthy carbs at dinner.
  7. Everyone looks amazing and beautiful! I had my sleeve surgery July 18,2018. I'm down 101 lbs. and still losing. I hope to lose at least another 71 lbs. This has not been an easy journey, but I'm so glad I did it!
  8. I'm six weeks out and seem to be retaining water, my feet and ankel's puff up. I'm finding it hard to get all my water in, maybe that's why? Anyone else having this issue?
  9. Hi, I'm 4 days post -op and looking forward to sharing this journey with others on the same path!

    Surgery 7/17 confused

I am post-op day 4. My diet has been clear liquid only for first 4 days, then full-liquid only for the next 10 days! I am no where near pureed food yet. Drinking anything at first was unpleasant, but I found if I walked and sipped it felt better. i can walk and sip about a quarter of a liter in about 15 minutes. I have had to adjust my sip size too, the smaller the better. It seems to get a little better each day.
