    Burn Boot Camp

I wanted to share the best gym experience I have found for anyone looking to take their workouts to the next level. About 4 months post op I wanted to increase from just cardio to something that would build strength etc. I am so lucky they had just opened a Burn Boot Camp in my area. The concept is a 45 minute high intensity workout led by a trainer. The majority of classes are women only and they offer free child care at many. This community of women has pushed me and encouraged me and held me accountable. After my surgery I was having trouble finding friends who embraced a more active lifestyle and this group was my answer. My very first day I couldn’t even do half the work out but everyone embraced me just the same. You also have one on one sessions with the trainer to track measurements, get nutrition help etc. They have locations nation wide and they are expanding so check to see if they are in your area. I consider this one of the best victories for me post surgery so I thought I would share my experience, in case anyone with out there is looking.
  2. Hi everyone! This is my first post and I’m feeling a little desperate. I am 8 months post op with the gastric sleeve. ( Almost 100 pounds down!!!) As soon as I started eating solids in January I would get some discomfort and pressure in my chest. Sometimes it would even feel like the food was coming back up my throat. Not painful but uncomfortable. It got slightly better but was still present at my six month post op appointment. The surgeon thought I might have some narrowing in my stomach, a stenosis, so he sent me to do a barium swallow. The radiologist didn’t see anything on the images but my surgeon thought he could see some narrowing. I did an EGD with balloon dilation a few weeks ago and my symptoms SLIGHTLY improved, but are still present. All that background to ask... has anyone experienced something similar? How can I still be having symptoms after this! I am terrified it is all in my head. It’s not painful, but I don’t want to live with it for the rest of my life. Does anyone else start to question their sanity after a while? Just me? Thought so. 🙄

    Sick when drinking water

I experienced something similar 3 weeks post op. I let myself get so dehydrated I was re admitted to the hospital. Turns out I had a moderate stricture Call your doctor- at the very least you need help hydrating. I can speak from experience that waiting will only make it worse
  5. I had a family member take this med. While they lost a lot of weight they also had mood and mental changes that we believe the med contributed to. As soon as she went off, she was back to normal 6 weeks later
