  1. Hi Celticdreamer, I too have been having second thoughts for Years now and I have watched my Arthitis get worse and worse, now I have no choice but to get the Lapband. I am close to your weight too and I would not even consider the Gastric, TOOO dangerous, someone else here told me that also! I am too young to get my knees replaced but I am getting to the point that I cannot walk without my walker. I want to feel normal again and do fun things again before I am Too old and my life passes me by. I know that is will be HARD for a while. I am getting things together for myself comfort wise so when I do get my date, I'll be ready. Pillows, a journal for writing and Venting!! I have been over weight all my life and I know I cannot do it alone and I want to be healthy again!!! I will pray for the both of us!!! Good Luck!!!!!
  2. Yes, welcome!! I have been over weight all my life too! I am sure if they made plus sized diapers, I probably had some! I am almost crippled by arthuritis and the lapband is my only choice. I have my first dr. appt. May 9th, I am scared, but I am also hoping this will make me feel like myself again! I live in Garland, TX, so good luck fellow Texan and keep us posted!!
  3. Hello everyone, I am 45 years and suffer with crippling arthritis. after my 3rd opinion, the doctors say I have to have my knee's replaced or have the bypass surgery. I have been using Alli, but he says I need to lose the weight faster if I want to be able to walk on my own, without the use of my cane or walker. I have had my knee scoped and have had a hysterectomy and second surgery 2 weeks after that due to infection and I was connecting to a wound vac machine for 3 months, I thought I would lode my mind after that!! So, I am not too excited to have more surgeries, so I need all the help I can get with this decision!! I Hate needles and cannot stand the thought of the port!!! I am afraid of what I don't know I guess!
