  1. Hi, I’m new to this forum and am 12 days post op gastric sleeve. I’m really struggling with the protein shakes and unable to keep them down. I am on anti nausea meds and it does seem to help for a short time, but then I’m right back to the nausea and just overall feeling uncomfortable. Right now my nutritionist and I are working on keeping me hydrated. Anyone else having trouble or ever had these issues? Suggestions would be great. Thanks!
  2. I am really frustrated lately. I’m 2 months post op... My last post op appointment with my surgeon was February 19, and since then I’ve only lost 3 pounds! Is this normal???? I’ve been bouncing back and forth between 313 and 311 on the scale. I try to only weigh in 2 times a week. I’ve lost a total of 58 pounds so far. My caloric intake is between 900-1100 calories per day and I’m taking in 50-64 ounces of unsweetened iced tea per day. (I hate drinking water, and digestive system does not accept artificial sweeteners... IBS, sorry for TMI) I do drink one cup of coffee per day with 1 teaspoon of dairy free creamer as well. I do not drink protein drinks due to extreme nausea but substitute solid proteins to compensate to be sure I’m getting enough protein daily. (Canned tuna or chicken in water for example) Due to lymphedema I will be seeing a physical therapist at the end of the month for an evaluation. Hopefully this will give me a kick start and get things moving again. But would love to get some suggestions from the gastric sleeve community in the meantime. This stall has lasted too long in my book, and I’m just feeling defeated. It would be nice to know I’m not the only one going through this alone. Thanks in advance for any input!

    1100 calories in a day!!!

Hi I’m almost 4 weeks post op... and like making of you I feel as if I’m eating too much!! I’m terrified of stretching my pouch (gastric sleevie here), and started purées and soft foods almost 2 weeks ago. Protein drinks (and I’ve tried several) don’t agree with me but I do get a muscle milk in once a day. On the average I stay under 900 calories. But I am seeing a stall in my weight loss... nutritionist says this is common and wait for your body to adjust. Guess I’m impatient! Does anyone else have this issue at such a short time out of surgery???

    Nausea and vomiting

Haven’t tried the protein water yet. But the protein teas (peach, that I bought from this site) isn’t so bad. I tried it for the first time today.

    Gastric sleeve and fibromyalgia

@Binglebug1977 ... I’m really not at the food prep stage yet. I don’t return to work till next week, and thought a lunch 🍴 cooler can keep my (baby foods with powder protein) in them as well as sealed containers of the protein broths and soups that I purchased from this site. As well as protein shakes. It’s a learn as you go process that’s for sure. And don’t forget to take your bottled water 💦 with you everywhere you go! 😉 Good luck! 🍀

    Nausea and vomiting

Thanks so much for the suggestion... I’m trying to stay away from protein shakes at this point and focusing more on staying hydrated. Spoke to my surgeons assistant yesterday. Concern was me possibly having to come back in to ER for iv fluids. Luckily I was able to get Pedialyte and Gatorade in me and was able to keep it down. I recently ordered the protein gummies on this website and should be getting them tomorrow. Hopefully that goes well! 👍

    Gastric sleeve and fibromyalgia

I also have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and am 2 weeks post op with my new sleeve. Since the start of my journey (I weighed in yesterday) I have lost a total of 45 lbs. and can definitely feel a different. My pain levels are not as high and I have reduced the use of anti inflammatorys and muscle relaxers. You are going to feel soooo much better. I wish you well on your journey. Keep us posted!
