  2. Hey all, I don't post much, (mostly lurk) in fact this may be the 1st post I've created. I had gastric bypass on 6/4. From surgery to the 2nd week of July I lost 36lbs. Then it stopped. Surprisingly it wasn't as stressful as I imagined it would be. Today the scale FINALLY moved! 1.5lbs, I'll take it! At 2 months out I still feel like I struggle to get all my liquids and protein in. Whatever I do eat I track in MFP. I work full time and have 3 children my youngest is only 1yr old. I wonder if my struggling is why my stall was so long. How long did your stall last?

  4. Hi There! I had a lot of pain post op too! I had RNY on 6/4/18. It was a much rougher recovery than I expected. I've had 3 c-sections so I thought I'd bounce back fairly quickly. No! Immediately after surgery I was miserable. Tylenol and oxycodone were definitely my besties. 2.5 weeks in I developed pneumonia? even with that set back by 4 wks out I actually felt good. I could sleep in my own bed. I was sleeping in the recliner for comfort and I could bend at the waist...lol. It's all a distant memory. Hope you're feeling better soon!
  5. @stacelistman, my Dr. has allowed me to take Phazyme 250. It has worked great for me
  6. Hey all! Thanks for tagging me on the new thread @Ylime! I've been lurking trying to keep up. A lot of new members! I had surgery 6/4. It has been a rough recovery for me. I haven't had any complications...I'm very thankful for that. Just a lot of pain and discomfort, which took me off guard since I've had 3 c-sections. They were a piece of cake. I guess I was hoping for the same for this surgery. Getting all my liquids and protein is a struggle to. It is super weird to not have ANY hunger. My mind is officially blown! Thursday was my follow up and I was down 17.6 lbs. I haven't weighed since. I'm trying not to be neurotic about it, but it sure is exciting!?? Take care everyone

  8. I bought the tropical fruit flavored one. They are pretty good; however, they do have a slightly chalky aftertaste. Sometimes I will add water and a similar or complementary flavored Crystal Light packet or plain lemon juice to help with the chalkyness. I also like a product called Proti Diet concentrated protein (Amazon). Just squeeze into your water. The downside is that there are only 15g or so of protein but the taste is very good. I recommend wildberry or tropical. Yes I love tropical flavors and hope to find myself on an island one day soon???

  10. Hi All! I'm new here...sorta. I gave an intro on another post here a few days ago. I mostly read and absorb all the posts. I'm a revision from lap band to RNY. My surgery date is June 4th. Thurday I had my last pre-op appointment. I found out I actually have to do a 2 week liquid diet. Booo! I had already geeked myself up for 1 week now I have to give myself another pep talk. Ha! Of course I have a graduation party ? and a BBQ during those two weeks? I'm definitely ready to get this show on the road. June 2nd is my pre surgical appt. with the anesthesiologist. My Dr. recommends I take 4 weeks off. That will give me a chance to get my eating together and quite frankly I'm looking forward to the break from work? How long are some of you planning to be out off work?
  11. Hey all! I'm new to this forum. I'm scheduled for RNY on 6/4....SOOOO EXCITED! I had a lap and placed in 2008 and then replaced in 2009 due to a slip. I lost about 70lbs. Then life started to happen. The insurance I had did want to pay for fills. Luckily I still had some restriction...even going thru 2 more pregnancies. I got new insurance coverage in 2016 and decided to get a fill only to find out my band had slipped again. The Dr did not recommend another band and suggested I have it removed and get a revision if I wanted. YES PLEASE! I'm blessed to awesome insurance. It did not require me to do a 3,6, or 12 month pre-op diet. I did have to do the EGD, psych, and nutritionist visits. I was required by the surgeon to wait 3 months after band removal in early January for my stomach to heal. I wanted to have surgery in late April but was delayed because the office assumed I had to see the Nut more than once and didn't do my due diligence in confirming what my requirements are. Anyhoo...I can't dwell on that. Its just a few weeks. I'm eager to get my health under control (I have hypertension) and look and feel good in my clothes again.
