  1. Great job!!!!!! So you can’t eat bread at all? Or you just choose not to?
  2. Thank you so much! Congratulations on your weight loss and new healthy life. That gives me hope
  3. Thanks everyone! I put away my scale and promised myself not to go on it again until my two week mark. It’s so hard not to be curious and to not hop on it every chance I get! Lol
  4. Amazing job! What an inspiration
  5. You look amazing! If you don’t mind me asking, how did you avoid getting loose skin? I can’t even tell that you lost a ton of weight by looking at your “after” picture alone.
  6. Hey ladies! What a great thread! I love reading about all of your stories My weight at my initial appointment (and my highest weight) was 342 lbs. My weight on my surgery date (May 28th) was 316 lbs and my current weight is still 316 lbs which makes me so sad! I’m hoping to start dropping pounds soon!
  7. Hey guys! So you guys are amazing and always reassure me and answer my millions of questions lol so here’s another one for you.... When did you start losing weight after your gastric bypass surgery? I’m 5 days post op and have not lost any weight yet. I actually am heavier than I was on my surgery date but only by a pound or two. I know they pump you up with things and I’m still crazy bloated BUT I’m just nervous that I’m doing something wrong. How long until I should start seeing some progress? When do I worry? Are there any cases where you don’t lose significant weight after the surgery even if you follow the meal plans? I guess I have a lot of time on my hands while recovering and am overthinking things a lot lol. Please humour me...lol Thanks in advance
  8. Have you tried the milk of magnesia??? I was constipated and took it one night, a few hours later I was all cleared up. It didn’t even cause any stomach pains or cramps. I’m still feeling the bloat and gas from the yogurt and it’s been over 12 hours since I consumed it! So annoying!!!
  9. I love that!!!!
  10. Hahaha fun times! My 5 year old pointed to my belly and said “yay you’re having a baby!” Lol
  11. Thanks for your input! You are probably right. Right now I look like I’m 9 months pregnant with a gas baby lol
  12. Hey guys, Quick question for you. I had my surgery on Monday and tried yogurt for the first time today. I usually just do the cottage cheese but decided to try something different. Right away, my stomach started gurgling and making noise and then came the expelling of gas (sorry TMI - I know...so attractive lol) should I try it again or not? is it good that it’s helping me expel gas or is it giving me more gas?
  13. Well said! Thanks for the reminder. I was having a bad day today because I was mourning my old favourite foods. I have two young boys who still enjoy their pizza and “fun” food. You are so right...the surgery was a blessing and no food is worth the unhealthy lifestyle I had before ?
  14. Hi! I had my gastric bypass on Monday (would that make me day 5 or day 4 post op? Not sure if you count the surgery day lol) and was extremely bloated and had muscle pain in the upper area as well. It only started to subside today although still slightly sore. Just give it time
  15. So amazing! Thanks for the inspiration
  16. Hi! So I had my gastric bypass on Monday and I’m on day 4 but I already felt my first hunger pang today and it freaked me out! I’m so scared of not being fulfilled by my full liquid diet or having my cravings creep back up. Is this normal? I’m doing about 5 med cups (30ml) per meal right now and I always feel full afterwards. Btw I haven’t lost any weight yet...when do you start dropping pounds?? thanks in advance
  17. Wooo! Congrats! Enjoy your new food
  18. Thank you! I will give it a few more days before I intervene with benefibre or milk of magnesia.
  19. I packed nightgowns which I never used until I went home in it lol (I didn’t have a dress and I didn’t want my pants to rub in my stitches) The only thing I really used was my chapstick and my phone (and charger). Pack light!!!! I made the mistake of over packing and it was a pain to lug it home
  20. Hi everyone! I had my gastric bypass surgery on May 28th so I’m on day 3! So far, I have been able to tolerate the liquids no problem although I feel a tightening below my ribs and have a hard time breathing after eating. Does this mean I’m full? I have no idea. I’m trying to follow my meal plan but I can’t consume all the food they ate telling me to eat. I get the protein drink in and maybe some of the secondary items but not to the volume it states. Ahh well, I’m just glad the surgery part is over and done with! When did you guys start taking the milk of magnesium and when did you have your first bm?
  21. Hi everyone! Thank you for all of your well wishes....I really appreciate the support. My surgery this morning had a little complication but nothing too bad. It was supposed to last 45min but ended up taking the surgeon 2 hours. Apparently my liver was enlarged and had Cirrhosis. He ended up having to make an additional incision higher up to go around my liver and he also cleaned up my liver. I don’t understand what happened because I did the liquid diet for a week and then because of not being able to tolerate it, was switched to the alternative diet of high protein low carb. I didn’t cheat at all besides missing a few snacks (fruit) because I was too full. I lost 26 pounds since day 1 of the liquid diet. Recovery was not too bad but the gas pains are horrible! I have walked around hoping to make them go away but it hasn’t worked. My first meal today was some type of broth and jello. I ate some although I’m not really hungry....more just thirsty so these ice chips are a dream! Best part: Before the surgery I was on meds for high blood pressure and diabetes. Since the procedure, my blood pressure has been great as well as my sugar levels....which means no more meds! Ah well, that’s all for now as I enjoy my quiet time in this hospital bed. Love you guys!
  22. I’m an hour away from my surgery and I’m just sitting here gowned up with my thoughts. I’m so nervous and scared! Wish me luck!!!
  23. Wooooo! 3 days is just around the corner! My surgery is in a few hours and I just can not sleep a wink. It didn’t really hit me until last night when I realized that I was so not prepared! I didn’t even pack my bag yet or buy my vitamins... I am now freaking out and trying to get out of my head but my stomach is in knots. Good luck with your surgery and we should keep in touch since our dates are so close together! I could use a surgery buddy
