Are you allowed to use a straw to drink a drink after surgery?

I have spoken to the doc and he recommends gastric bypass but I am not so sure I want that, I think I like the idea of the sleeve better. Does anyone know what the major differences are?

I feel exactly the same, my endo is on board but says I will need to be closely watched. I am concerned about the lows and how to treat them but I am excited about the thought of not taking so much insulin and losing some weight. I wear an insulin pump and have a dexcom that can be used to monitor sugars but I am still very nervous about what is to come

Does anyone out there have type 1 diabetes and had gastric bypass surgery. I am excited to be starting this process but would love some feedback from anyone who has done it. Thank you

Hi My name is Cara, I have just begun this long process to weight loss surgery. I have to do a lot of stuff the insurance requires for me to have surgery but I recently met with the surgeon and he recommends gastric bypass because I am a type 1 diabetic. I am excited, nervous and terrified all at once. I need some help with understanding how this surgery works and what to expect, please anyone help me!!! Thank you
