  1. That is a great sign that things will work in your favor. What proteins shakes/powders/premades are you using?
  2. Thanks! I think there are a few of us. You will be starting yours before you know it. Sorry that this is happening with your program, but hopefully the appeal goes through for you.
  3. I went on a cruise last month and it was wonderful! I have just recently had my food funerals. I started my liquid diet today. Lord give me strength! It is actually easier to do it while I am teaching, because I am busy and not able to stop and munch like I can at home. See the optimism 6 hours into this! Tonight will be a different animal. Remaining positive. I have Disney World planned 5-6 weeks post-op and that will be quite a change from indulging on the dining plan as I have in years past.
  4. Last meal tonight of sushi and a fresh banana malt. I feel like the prodigal last supper.Tomorrow starts the liquid diet. I know I can do this! I broke the news to my husband that I can't go to his annual company dinner this weekend. Don't need the temptation and might not have the energy to dance. It is basically 500 calories and 70-80 grams of protein daily. 2 weeks from tomorrow is the day!!!
  5. In some ways, I wish that I didn't have to do the liquid diet, but I am going to have to do something of that nature after my surgery- so maybe this is a good thing. I'm surprised they are allowing you to have coffee. I do plan on having coffee or tea post surgery after I make sure that I am staying hydrated. Apparently, that is why my plan doesn't allow it. Just can't believe that it is literally 2ish weeks away for us!
  6. I don't think that i am. I have 3 different brands to play around with during this phase: Isopure, Nectar Syntrax (the big sampler pack- like 17 flavors), Premier clear shakes, Premier non-clear shakes. I also bought the PB2 powder in regular and chocolate to add to the Isopure. I think that I will buy some Almond Milk. I was using my Mio with the Isopure and it was great. I also bought the SF pops. I need to buy some more Mios and SF jello. I might buy a few boxes of SF pudding. I was looking at the nutrition label and I don't know why I can't mix that in for variety.
  7. My trial run didn't go that great. I just didn't tolerate it that well. My actual liquid diet starts Tuesday. For some reason, I got horrendous gas/bloat. It might not have been related to the shakes- who knows??? Apparently in my program we can not have soup, only shakes, SF jello, SF pops and water. I might have to break out the broths (low sodium ones that I make myself). I know I can do this! Just need to mentally prepare myself. I haven't decided if I am going to take 1 or 2 weeks off. I am leaning towards 2 weeks to be safe. I am a teacher with a great student teacher.
  8. Starting my 2 week liquid diet on Tuesday. May 1st will be here before I know it. Anyone have helpful hints or suggestions? I did a trial run a week ago and it was tough to make it through the day. How long is everyone thinking about taking off of work?
  9. Mine is schedule for May 1st!!! Start my pre-op diet one week from today.
