4 days out from band to ds and feeling down
Yes, it gets better. I had protein shakes and water for the first few days. The protein shakes count as liquid so that's good. Just remember to get your water in. Drink as much as you can. I carried a water bottle around for the first few weeks. You can do it!

Tried Premier Protein Peaches and Cream and Cookies and Cream
The peach was ok. I haven't tried to cookies and cream yet. Chocolate is my fave. Caramel is good but I drank that right after surgery for like a week straight to I am burned out on that flavor lol

So Many Pills
I have a huge pill thing that divides my pills into four times a day. Once I found a calcium chewable (bariatric advantge brand) instead of those awful calcium citrate pills I was much happier.

Did anyone have to do lovenox injections?
I had them for 14 days as well. I never used my thighs as an injection site. I always used different spots on my stomach. I found that it stung when some of the medicine creeped out of the syringe before injection. Otherwise I didn't feel anything. Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app

Tracking help. Had a rough day.
I've never heard of bariastic! I currently use my fitness pal but something that is designed for bariatric patients has a lot of appeal. Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app

Let's Play Another Round of "How Much Am I Eating Now?"
I had DS surgery on 3/16/18. I'll be cleared for veggies, fruits and wheat bread in a few days. I can't have anything with a lot of fiber right now. I am not tracking anything yet bc I want to wait until I can eat everything. Breakfast is a premier protein shake, maybe scrambled eggs. I have these 1 cup containers that I take to work everyday filled with food. Las week I filled them with a little refried beans, shredded enchilada seasoned chicken and a little cheese. I will eat two or three while I am at work. It depends on how hungry I am. I will have some sort of snack when I get home. Maybe another premier, more chicken (I love chicken), protein oatmeal, etc. Sometimes I will have a sugar free popsicle. When I am brave enough I want to try greek yogurt. It didn't agree with me before the surgery but I am hoping that has changed. I have learned that I can no longer have spicy food which sucks.

Tome off work - how much??
I took a weeks vacation and worked from home for a week. I have a desk job so it wasn't that big of a deal for me to go back but I was definitely tired in the beginning. It all depends on how much pain you are in and how you recover.

Waking up after sugery
I had ds surgery on 3/16/18. It took me about 2 hours to come out of anesthesia. I was nauseous and groggy but alert. I was asking the nurse questions and asked my mom what time it was lol My surgeon came to see me and we briefly talked about where he was going on vacation that evening, along with how my surgery went. I was groggy for a few hours but I the nausea from the anesthesia is what did me in. I couldn't move. I threw up bile and black stuff (I'm assuming dried blood). The nausea lasted for a good 12-14 hours and then I was finally able to sleep. Once that wore off, I was fine.

Exercise?
I am currently 5 weeks post-op ds surgery. I was ok'd for walking, elliptical and stairmaster after 2 weeks. I haven't gone to the gym yet bc I love to lift weights and it would be too tempting. At my 6 week followup I should get the ok for more strenuous exercise and to use weights.
